Good and fit for purpose
I bought this to back up all my iPhone photos directly to a USB stick, and it does the job well. After formatting the drive to exFAT, my phone recognized it immediately in the Files app. Transfers are smooth for photos and videos, though larger batches can take a while. The adapter is lightweight and easy to carry, making it perfect for travel. Just note that some bigger external drives may need extra power. Easy and fast moving of files on iPad
This is a very convenient gadget that allows you to connect a USB key to an iPad, and take off all the photos etc. that are on the iPad, and stop Apple taking and treating your files as if they own them. Or course, you could also move files to the iPad using a USB key and this adapter.

Doesn't work with my iPhone
I couldn't get this to work. iPhone X running 16.7.14 . Tried 2 different Kingston USB both FAT32 . Rebooted phone . Nothing shows in Files app . Returned item.
