I purchased this set of stencils to transfer initials onto a set of faux ivory handgun grips for my first entry into scrimshaw work.The stencils were well done but too large for my application. I experimented with my Word program font and size until I got what I was looking for.Then, I used a soft pencil to coat the back of the printed initials, taped the printed work to the surface, and transferred the pencil by rubbing the printed letters with ballpoint pen.When removing the print work, the pencil had left clear markings of where I wanted my initials.I scribed the pencil and filled the scribing with Indian ink.Presto!

My wooden welcome sign was worn and faded after 3 years outside. A few coats of blue paint and then white paint using the stencils really perked it up.
