Disable the Lock and Then It’s Great
Works as it should and has a small enough footprint for the tiniest countertops! The only thing you’ll need to do is disable the door locking mechanism, otherwise you’ll go crazy trying to retrieve your food. I’ve never had a microwave come set with a child safety lock on the door before, and I was beyond relieved when I saw you could turn this off. I’ve attached a quick pic of the instructions to do so.

This is deeper than most and very easy to use. Cooks great.

Peel away the protective film covering the buttons !
The Faberware seems to be well made, like my larger Panasonic that lasted over 20 years. After unboxing and during first use, the buttons were very hard to push to do anything. I had to use a pencil with an eraser to push hard. The next day I noticed that at the bottom of the number panel area, a small yellow plastic tab said something so I grabbed that and started to lift and peel off a thick film. The protective film is hard to see and has a strong adhesive layer. Once removed, the buttons are much easier to push ! One reviewer said the oven lasted 6 months, another reviewer said 1 year 5 months. Will try to update this review in August 2025. As of March 2025 it performs very well. I like that pressing 1 will give you 1 minute, 2 gives you 2 minutes, etc. If you want 1 min 30 sec, use the 0 button quick program feature.

Very Happy with it. Only one thing off. See below.
For the record, I am reviewing: Farberware FM09SSE Classic Countertop Microwave Oven 900-Watt with LED Lighting, Child Lock, Easy Clean Interior, 0.9 Cu. Ft, StSo, we wanted a smaller microwave since we have limited counter space and honestly we mostly use it to heat water for tea, and melt butter, or occasionally reheat leftovers. For the price this one was our choice. The only thing I can say about this that is a negative is that the numbers on the pad are printed slightly lower than the actual switch behind the cover. So, in order to press say number 3 you have to press the very top of the square where the three is, and if you press in the center of the square nothing happens. It is the same for all the buttons. Just off by about 2-3 mm. Other than that, I love the thing. Funniest part is that with our old microwave, it took exactly 3 minutes to heat a cup of water to boiling, and with this one that is much less energy, it takes the exact same amount of time. So, we are using less energy and getting the same results. I like it. Same thing for popcorn. I thought for sure it would take longer since it was not as strong, but I guess the size of the inside makes a difference and it works just great. Which means I did not have to relearn times for melting butter, or reheating foods. Yea!!!!

bargain
Packed well which is a good thing since there was some damage to the exterior of the box. We just use the microwave for the usual stuff. Works perfectly. There's a lot of technology and value here for the price point. Interior light is subdued but effective enough. People nitpick about the non-illuminated keypad but the numbers are located in the same formation as anything else has been for decades so that's automatic to get used to easy peasy. Strong enough, interior big enough. A bargain for this price point. Recommended.

Decent microwave
Bought this to replace my 15-year old, larger Sharp 1200-watt microwave. Sad to let it go, but it was rusting badly inside after all these years. Here are the pros and cons of this smaller Farberware microwave:The Pros: 1.) 900 watts of power is surprisingly sufficient. Getting used to the decreased wattage from 1200 to 900 has not been a big deal. 2.) I prefer the dark gray interior of this microwave. It is also easy to clean. 3.) A big positive of this microwave is that it is relatively QUIET (important to me.)The Cons: 1.) Not as many bells and whistles as my old Sharp. Lack of auto-reheat button options on this one. But really not a huge deal to me. I've gotten used to working with the button options it has and I've transitioned fine. 2.) Be aware of this microwave's compact size (both a positive and a negative.) It is fine for reheating regular size plates, bowls, and square casserole dishes, but it is too small to accommodate a rectangular glass dish. 3.) The keypads buttons on the Farberware oven are not as touch sensitive as I'd expect. You need to press a little harder on these buttons to make them work. I'm used to it now but in the beginning, I admit I was mildly annoyed.Overall, I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives relative to its bargain price. This microwave will suit your purpose decently, as long as you are just using your microwave for everyday smaller jobs.

Great product
I love the fact that you can just hit '1' and it will automatically start. Same with 2 and 3.The handle is nice and the item looks expensive in the kitchen

This was my most expensive purchase and my most disappointing,
I'd had this microwave for about a year when it just stopped working. When I first used it, it would cut off after about 3-5 minutes of working, but I thought that was just a safety issue to keep it from overheating. Now, when I use it, It comes on and uses energy as if it is working to heat up my food, only to have my food come out just as cold as it was when I put it into the microwave.
