This essence actually feels more like a water based serum than an essence. It has a thicker consistency with decent fluidity to it. It has a unique scent to it. Kind of like the ordinary vitamin c serum. It’s definitely not an orange scent but rather a more chemical scent to it. It’s not intrusive at all. I really only smell when I open the bottle. I don’t even smell it on application either. The essence does feel a little sticky at first and as its first absorbing but it does fully absorb with in 5 minutes leaving a tight feeling in my skin and subtle dewy look. The tightness does not feel like it’s drying my skin out but rather tightening my pores. It’s a subtle feeling that eases once I move onto my serum and moisturizer.I’ve been using this for a few days now and I haven’t experienced any reactions or adverse side effect of adding this to my skin care routine. This essence does have good ingredients. I am new to the broccoli extract ingredient. This serum does have some really good hydrating ingredients. When I allow the full required time to let this product fully absorb (maybe 5 minutes or so) I do notice that my skin tone does have a nice natural and dewy glow to it. (With no sticky feeling or texture.) I like the natural glow I get from using this product. I do feel like I could skip my vitamin c serum step and use this alone and still yield nice radiant results with my skin.I am pretty happy with this essence. It has a shelf life of 6 months and the box says to use it ASAP once opened. I wish it had a longer shelf life but, other than that this is a great effective essence. I started seeing results in just a few days of starting this essence.I can’t be sure but given the dark amber glass bottle I am thinking this essence might be photosensitive. I store in a safe place in a vanity mirror but that might be something to consider if you get a lot of natural light where you might be storing this product.

When I first ordered this, I thought this was an essence and it was just spelled incorrectly. lol! This is my first time using an "essener". I guess it's a mix between a toner and an essence...but an essence is in between a toner and a serum. I just see this as an essence. The viscosity is thicker than a toner, but thinner than a normal serum. It's like a more liquidy serum...pretty much like an essence. I pretty much just used this in place of a toner. The bottle is glass and quite thick. There's a seal on the bottle so you know it hasn't been tampered with.The scent of this product is herbal medicine-y, but it is a light scent. Not typical and kind of not for everyone. The essener absorbed into my skin relatively quickly and didn't leave my face with any weird greasy feelings. (Facts)* Essener means Essence + Toner.* The texture is thicker than toner and lighter than essence.* Good, natural ingredients.* Listed 23 ingredients and none of them is harmful.* Out of 23 ingredients, 17 ingredients are good for moisturizing, 2 for skin protection, 2 for calming, 1 for brightening, and 1 for anti-wrinkle.As you can tell by the ingredients, this is good for dry skin types.I am a very sensitive combination type (oily T-zone + dry chins) and this works well on me without causing any trouble.(Usage)* I would recommend applying it by hand unless you want to nourish your cotton balls.* I found that it also can be used as a face mask: put enough amount on the thin cotton pad and put it onto the face. Leave it for 10 minutes. No wash.This will better get skin conditions ready for the makeup.(Something to think about)* The description does not say it's cruelty-free. I googled the company and it is listed as cruelty-free.However, it is not registered with Bunny Free, which may mean two things.The company does not test on animals but their suppliers may do.Or, the company is oblivious to the importance of being marked as cruelty-free.Especially in the US and Canada, many people want to make sure they purchase cruelty-free products.I am one of them and I hope the maker will clarify this soon.* Prices for the size, but, if it is officially marked as cruelty-free, I would buy it again.* Not sure if the inner lid is suitable for this type of product...a little bit messy and inconvenient to dispense the content.But I do like the glass bottle and removable label on it for easy recycling.
