the rough guide to bluegrass
The Rough Guide to Bluegrass (Rough Guide Music CDs) I saw a documentary on Dolly Parton and though I am not a great music lover I became interested in the Tennessee mountain music and Bluegrass. I purchased this disc and since it arrived I have played it most days. I think that this is music as it should be, unadorned and not remastered or computer enhanced. Just people singing and playing from their hearts. As an introduction to this music genre I have found this to be a great way in, and I am looking now for more music by some of the featured performers. The banjo and guitar playing has to be heard to be believed.

A true, beautiful guide
Finally something honest. This guide is really interesting and beautiful. A true guide. The sound could be only a bit better but is well above loads of other guides/greatest hits.If you' re not an irrepressive audiophile and wish to know something about this particoularworld this Cd is perfect for you.It contains (old recording I think) what I consider to be one of the best country songs ever:"Matterhorn".... this song is what I was dreaming of before knowing a bit of country(sound excepted).

Get This One
Great CD. This is the best CD of its type I have come across as it showcases a breadth of songs and instrumentals within the bluegrass genre. It has a wonderful opening track of unaccompanied three part harmony as well as first class musicianship and some really sweet songs. I would rate it above the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack CD which is of course also very good.
