Perfect for USB-C compatible PC's & Phones
I use mine to directly backup document, images form my Android A32 Samsung phone, into Micro SD. Works perfectly for backs ups, making more space on your phone, while on the move.As well as makes transfer of contents between phone and PC much more easy, at USB C 3.1. speeds.

Works fine but be aware of its limitations
Works fine on my phone but not on my tablet (which I think is the tablet's fault, not this device's). Handy for viewing photos taken on a camera when away from home. However it's not tiny and so is a bit bulky when attached to a phone, and being a rigid aluminium case attached directly to the plug makes it feel as though a drop or knock could be disastrous for the phone due to the leverage it would exert on the USB-C port. Also note that only one of the SD card slot and Micro SD slot can be used at one time so you can't copy from SD to Micro SD or vice versa. However you can copy to/from USB and one of the SD slots. With those limitations in mind, it works well.

Not worth the money
I bought the KiwiBird because I needed a smaller, more versatile card reader for use with my new MBP. Having the additional USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter was a bonus.Frankly, this adapter is a waste of time and money. The SD card reader simply does not work. In any port, any computer, with any card, the computer simply cannot see the SD card.Furthermore, when plugged into the 15 inch 2018 MBP, the plastic housing of the Kiwibird obstructs the USB-C port next to it, making it unusable by anything. So essentially you get an adapter that takes two of your USB-C ports out of action and doesn't work. Avoid.EDIT: Kiwibird customer support contacted me and offered a free replacement with a different product of theirs instead. The one that they sent was the "KiWiBiRD USB-C HUB, HDMI 4K Adapter, SD/Micro SD Card Reader, USB 3.0 Ports, Compatible with MacBook Pro, MacBook, iMac, Dell XPS, Lenovo Yoga 900/910, ThinkPad X1, more Type-C/Thunderbolt 3 Devices". This has worked very well and was much appreciated as a sign of very good customer service. While it doesn't change my initial review of the Type-C SD card reader, it is a sign that this is a good company who have some good products out there, perhaps I was just unlucky with this particular device. Improved to 3 stars for good customer service.

Works well on Android phones
I use this to review and share dashcam videos on my phone. I can plug this in and quickly share a clip on whatsapp in less than a minute.

Useful for holiday backup
Maybe I am somewhat sad for enthusing about this but there you go.I was looking for something I could use to transfer photos from cards onto a 1TB SSD I have. Without having to take a laptop with me.I wondered if this could read from a card and write to the SSD connected via USB (whilst connected to phone via USB-C). Another reviewer said it works so I took a punt.It works great. Both the card and the SSD show up in the Samsung Android File Manager and you can easily move or copy files. So well happy. Not massively speedy (about 25MB/s) but yet to do tests as to bottleneck, probably read speed of the micro-sd i tried.

Fantastic device, very good quality - too much plastic in packaging!
Reassuringly solid feeling in hand, I think it's a metal housing. The cap fits very securely and won't fall off when it's in your pocket or laptop bag. The SD card fits in tightly, no wobble at all and the transfer speed is very high. There's a small blue LED discreetly placed to indicate that it's connected and transferring. It's a good size; not so small that you'll easily lose it, but not unnecessarily big. I transferred ~50GB of photos very quickly with no issues. The product is 5 stars, it's perfect and a good size, but there's so much plastic in the packaging I had to deduct a star - do we really need a plastic tray inside a plastic bag inside a plastic-coated cardboard box for this?
