The card reader has been working well up until now, and I haven’t had any problems using it. Its size it is really good to be carried everywhere. It is a little bigger than a quarter. Although, if you wonder about carrying it on a keychain the answer is no. There is no hole or a key ring to put it on your keychain. I didn’t really care about this as I thought of disassembling it to use in a project that I planned on getting to someday. So keep that in mind if you were looking for some kind of pen-drive keychain.The material from which this product was made out of doesn’t feel sloppy as other SD readers I have seen out there. Further to my previous comment about disassembling it, I found that it is difficult to do so because all is really closed made of an only solid plastic case. It is not made of two parts that just pop up to be opened. So although I wasn’t expecting to be that way, this is a positive point just because it’s shown to be a good product after all.I like the fact that instead of putting the micro SD card on the back, it goes into the usb tip. I also have to mention that there isn’t any cap to cover the tip, which it can be a disadvantage. The SD card fits kind of tight inside the slot, so it is very improbable that it will fall down due to the lack of a cap. Yet, you still have to be careful and keep an eye on it if you’re on your way down to somewhere and as the saying goes “better safe than sorry”.

This little microSD to USB adaptor works a treat. It has one of the fastest transfers of files for this type of device. It's only downside being it can run extremely hot. I tend to place a few small coins on top of the device and even wedge some underneath it to help dissipate the heat. It's a clever design. Recommended.

Great little device, perfect as a portable digital suitcase for all my files, music and videos. Solid build quality, very easy to slot in & remove micro SD card.Would have given it a 5 if it weren't for 3 points - 1. No notch/loop to allow me to attach it to a keyring; 2. Didn't allow me to use a 32gb micro SD card, formatted to FAT32 to use with my firestick bus an OTG USB cable (might be an issue with the firestick, but not entirely sure on that front); 3. No included micro USB adaptor, although that's not a big issue, as they're cheap.Aside from that pretty damned good, especially for the price. My main gripe is lack of keyring attachment option, as I'd appreciate that convenience, rather than stuffing it in my wallet or bag (thus more likely to get lost, as it's so small).Has worked very well with USB 3 XHC micro SD cards with my computer.

I recently purchased a USB hub. When it arrived, I was disappointed to find that my current usb sticks would not fit in side by side because the ports were too close together. I reviewed and pointed out this annoyance, but since doing some investigating and found that this Rocketek micro SD card to USB is the idea companion as 4 of them will fit perfectly side by side in the USB hub. THis is because the width of the USB reader is narrow enough not to restrict its neighbour, unlike the scandisk varieties that I already had. OK the negatives, could be that if you want to carry this little device around, it does not have any cap, or lanyard hole, so it's really not ideal for portability. The SD card actually slides in front and beneath the USB plug part, not at the side or at the back of the device. Removing the card is slightly tricky, as there is no eject mechanism. However given my needs as above, it's perfect. SO, FULL MARKS. However, do be certain of what you want, as portability may not be its strong point!

Funny how the review screen offers me 'Warmth' and @ 'sheerness' as potential attributes for this product! What Im reviewing here is a microusb card reader. I found the design a little offputting at first with the card pushed into the plug sid. However, it works well and is quite neat.I found the reader operated at a reasonable speed consistent with USB3 standards. The only problem is that sometimes it can be difficult to remove the card from the reader, especially if you have poor nails.

Great functionality. A bit tricky to get the micro-SD card out so don't buy it to use for different micro SD cards, only consider it for a card you will leave in it permanently. The BIG problem is the device gets SO HOT when used in a USB/3 slot and I mean really hot, that I am scared to use it. Maybe it's just dissipating the heat from your card and will therefore be fine.

When I first bought this, I did not realise the MicroSD card slots into the metal USB Plug end which is rather usual. So you have to unplug the device every time to change the MicroSD card. It also does not have any spring loaded slot and is rather fiddly to insert and a tight fit. Removing the MicroSD card from the USB metal plug is a struggle! So I would not purchase this if you have many cards to insert and remove on a regular basis.However it does recognise the USB Reader on Windows 10 and no drivers required. It also read my 128GB Card without any problems and allowed me to format the card to FAT32. It copied 16GB of data very quickly from the Micro SD card, but the device got so hot that I could touch it! I would say it was like touching a hot plate from the oven! So I do not really trust this device to copy large amounts of video data at one time in fear it would fry/damage my experience Micro SD card. It's was a cheap price and you pay for what you get!So I have decided to put this purchase down to experience! And only use it as an emergency backup device! And decided to buy a UGREEN Card Reader instead.

I installed a 256GB and a 64GB MicroSD and copied some stuff from my hard drive as a backup. I didn't have any issues. Now as for "speed"... well any techie who really knows anything about computers will tell you it all depends!!!I installed this on a Linux laptop running quad core i7's and get an incredibly fast copy time using 'dd' with large block size copyI installed it in an old Intel desktop that has a USB-3 PCI card and get different but more than acceptable results... I tested it using a USB-2 port and of course it was way slower. That's NOT the adapter's faultI installed it in my Gaming desktop set at turbo mode in a USB3.2 port and get very fast speeds...And what else makes a difference??? The MicroSD card itself!!! I used SanDisks Ultra Plus - 64GB and 128GB cards. I've got other branded MicroSD cards which are much slower than SanDisk... so my quoting numbers is pointless because it all depends on so many variables, If you copy 1GB of 1,000 small files it will take much longer than copying a single 1GB file. It also depends on the block size that the copying software uses.... copying at 4kB blocks at a time will take considerably longer than copying using a block size of 64kB... So that's why I won't quote the speeds???Bottom line, I found in my environment it works for what I need it at speeds I'm more than happy with. I also like the size and it's easy to grasp to insert/remove.
