tangy fruity & salty
its not pure ume paste... lots of other ingredients (and plum isnt even listed on the ingredients on the bottle- it says japanese apricot but im going to assume thats the plum?!) but it is pretty delicious! the squeezy bottle is handy. will buy again.

The best Umeboshi paste ever. Love it.
This is the best for white rice. Just squeeze it on and eat it. It is so good if you like Umeboshi flavor. It is sour so beware but it tastes good. You will love it.

It tastes good. Sour and salty the way it should be.
It tastes good sour and salty with a trace of plum flavor at the end, just the way it's supposed to taste

Good sauce. Had it last night with my homemade shrimp and salmon nigiri. I liked the flavour and texture very much.

Just as described ignore the ignorant haters
Just as described! Ignore the bad (and clearly ignorant) reviews saying it doesnt taste like plum as japanese plums are closer to apricots in flavor and subtle. It is salty bc it is a preserved food which dates back to antiquity. I had it on rice and used as an ingredient in a marinade and it came out well Feels like im in japan when I use it Mine is without shiso as I wanted a pure flavor. Gonna try the 1 with shiso next and compare it
