MasterClass Induction-Safe Stainless Steel Mini Saucepan, 8.5 cm (3.5"), Silver

I know a lot of people have bought this to use as a small version of an ordinary saucepan, which I'm sure works fine. I bought mine to use as a little sauce pan. Specifically for making caramel. When making caramel, and assuming you're not making loads of it, you want the caramel to be as deep as possible as it cooks. A normal saucepan is too wide. The caramel won't be deep enough, and consequently is very easy to burn. This little sauce pan solves that problem, even if you're just making caramel for one creme caramel, the size of this pan gives you a good chance of not burning it. The saucepan itself is very nicely made. I own some Masterclass baking tins, and have been very impressed with the quality of all their products. Made completely from stainless steel. The saucepan handle and the lid handle are both very securely rivetted on. Not a hint of movement. It is very small, and if you were trying to stand it onto the trivet of your gas cooker rings, you may find it to be very unsteady. It is on mine, although I always have it in my hand when cooking caramel, so it isn't an issue. This obviously wouldn't be a problem on a ceramic induction or electric flat plate, but is worth bearing in mind. Overall, I'm very pleased. This works perfectly for its intended use, and being stainless steel is easy to clean. I can see no reason why this shouldn't give many years of service. I hope you found this review helpful.

Small but perfectly formed. Bought this as very often even 12cm pans were just too big. Superb for just a small amount of sauce, small can of beans, or to boil a single egg. Works well on induction. Nicely balanced handle, and comes with a lid too. Recommended.

Had mine 6 months looking for a use... turns out it's a brilliant size for heating my milk for my morning coffee (Moka pot)! Now it's my favourite saucepan and gets daily use. Very easy to clean too. I never use the lid but it's a cute addition. I wish they made these in more sizes Only complaint would be about the thick induction base - it's not perfectly brazed onto the bottom of the saucepan and water gets in from regular hand washing. This means that when I put it on my induction hob I get a few spits of hot water from the bottom edges of the pan, which are easy to wipe up but still an annoyance.

Great quality but too small for boiling 2 large eggs.

My wife wanted a small pan to do small amounts of milk or similar so I ordered this as we needed something suitable for induction hobs. It works perfectly on induction and is a handy size for small amounts for sauce etc. and sturdily made (ours did come with a lid). You can see the circumference is only just a bit bigger than a tin of beans and less than half the height.

It did not arrive with a lid! Picture either incorrect or not delivered in error. Pan seems ok. Only 1 star for lack of lid.

Nice saucepan, but beware, it is NOT nonstick.

This is a great little pan for melting butter! I was a bit doubtful that it would work on an induction hob, as it has very small base, and I have tried other pans that the induction hob won't recognise and that don't have a magnetic bottom (so they were never going to work!). But this Masterclass 9cm pan definitely works on my induction hob on both the 14.5 and 18cm size rings! Plus it's a good quality product, AND it came with a lid!! Very happy.

This is a darling little saucepan - but it IS small.

Pentolino carinissimo e ben fatto, ma davvero troppo piccolo. Pure io che sono amante degli oggetti piccolini ho dovuto renderlo, non ci sta neanche un uovo medio da far bollire.

A small yet very useful saucepan in a very high quality. When only limited sauce is needed you may find this item perfect. We use it for melting butter and for drippings when serving meat.
