These are for electric guitar. You can use them on acoustic if you need lighter strings but, they will not sound as good as acoustic strings on acoustic guitars.

They WOULD function but, tonally they are not ideal. An electro-acoustic needs to sound LIKE an acoustic, and normally uses a piezo pickup to achieve this. This is a structure that is located under the saddle of the bridge and (unlike an electric guitar which has strings 'operating' in the magnetic field of a normal pickup) reacts to the pressure and vibration transferred by the electro's string, through the bridge saddle to the piezo pickup (some electros also have a microphone, located inside the body, or attached under the guitars volume and tone control panel as well).The correct strings for an electro are normal acoustic strings, usually of bronze or phosphor-bronze construction.Ernie Ball make a range of this type of string, or you could choose a string set made by Martin, an acoustic and electro-acoustic guitar manufacturer of great repute - the Martin 'Marquis' range are very good, go for a light, or light medium gauge set. Something like a 10 - 47 set (gauged in thousandth of an inch, from thinnest to thickest) are ideal.Many other string manufacturers make acoustic string sets which Will suit an electro-acoustics as well.

It's a while ago when I bought them but I am pretty sure that's what I got 3 sets of 6 strings ps. Realy good strings. Hope this helps.frank
