Hose Repair Connector 12.5mm

I had stupidly cut up my really expensive Hozelock hose over the years for various bits and bobs. Just 1/2 a meter to connect to the tap. Just a few meters so I can empty the fish tank out of the window. Just a few more meters so I can do this that or the other, and so it went on until I had a really short length of hose that didn't even stretch 16m from it's original length of 30m. Luckily, I had just purchased. a new hose reel for the back garden so I can have one out front and one out back so I didn't have to drag it through during the summer when the plants needed watering, and luckily, I got the same hose again and it was far too long for the reel I had purchased, and almost twice the length of the garden. That was when I decided to get this, and believe me, I was very sceptical that this wouldn't just cause a lot of leaking and dribbling, but wow, this is perfect. It doesn't leak, it hasn't come off once and even when you are tugging the hose off the reel it stays put firmly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this, it works fantastically and has saved me a good amount of cash as now I have added my off cut to my old shorter hose and made a full length one that will enable me to water the garden without a watering can again. Excellent bit of kit!

After having our Hozelock hose reel for 4 years, it was slowly getting shorter and shorter as my partner kept cutting lengths off it for other projects round the house such as waterproof housing for cabling etc. Eventually the crunch came when we went to clean the car and the hose no longer reached the end of the garden. The choices were we buy a new hose or buy the connector and put the bits we could retrieve, back together. We figured the connectors were the cheaper option and worth a shot, before spending money on a new hose, so we compiled all the hose pieces and reconnected them with these connectors. It’s worked perfectly and the hose is now long enough to reach all over the property, with no leaks or spurts. The only thing worth noting is now we can’t use the guide runner on the hose reel when winding it up as it’s not big enough to allow the connectors through the gap. We had to feed to hose in through the bottom of the reel holder, but it’s no issue in getting the hose wound back onto the reel or it lying flat against the rest of the hose, so totally worth the few pounds to extend the hose back to a reasonable length. Also now when my partner needs to “borrow” some hose he can just undo the connector, save cutting the hose again. These are also ideal for repairing leaks as you can just cut the hose where the hole is and add in a connector which solves the problem.

This works well, locks into position by tightening the nuts. No leakage and a clean connection of two pipes.

Fits pipe no problem. Stopped a leak that had started owing to wear and tear of the previous plastic joint.
