OtterBox FRĒ Series Waterproof Case with MagSafe (Designed by LifeProof) for iPhone 14 Pro (ONLY) - Black

Purchased to use on vacation and kept my phone safe in the pool and ocean. No issues with Face ID or touch quality even with water on screen. I like the scroll detail over the ringer switch, makes it easy to scroll between silent and ringer on. Only 2 complaints, first is that the plastic over the back camera is very delicate, it scratched easily I’m not even sure on what as I am gentle with my phone. Second is when you’re listening to music or watching videos the sound vibrates on the back of the phone and feels weird in your hand after a while. Otherwise, sound is crisp and clear on recordings phone calls and when watching videos or listening to music. Recommend buying a float for your phone to pair with this case so it doesn’t sink if you drop it in the water.

It is very pricey; bulky and heavy; but that’s all I can say about the cons. As soon as I received it and held it the quality was outstanding: durable, quality made, and delivered on its promise of being waterproof and drop proof. It does have a front screen cover that seems thin, but the iPhone screen is really close tight to it that it feels as sensitive and responsive to touch as if it did not have a screen on it. I’m hoping it will protect the screen though since it is nearlyImpossible to put on a screen protector on your iPhone and close the case. The case is heavy and bulky, but it is not that bulky and heavy in exchange for protecting the iPhone in water, dust, and drops. It feels thinner than other cases that claims to be water, dust, and drop proof. The iPhone itself is actually heavy so the case seems heavy, but just holding the case itself, it is really light. I had to admit, I did not feel good about the price, but after looking at the price of an Apple insurance, the case is about 1/3 of the price and I am confident it will protect the iPhone very well to a point that no repairs will ever be needed as long as it is in the case. as far as the sound, it gives a pretty loud output, especially if you open the charging port. It definitely does have a better sound output than many waterproof cases I know without compromising any waterproof protection. I am very impressed with this case with the plus of having a camera protector for it that is as guarded as the entire phone, and it does not seem to interfere with camera use. Not to mention, if you use the mag lite backing for charging it is included too (I use a silicone wallet at the back so I use the port charging and I can play with my phone while charging instead of placing the phone down to charge it). Don’t let the skeptics and bad reviews stray you away from getting this high quality case. I’ve had LifeProof cases before, and I don’t think the quality went down after Otterbox bought the company basing it off of this case and the quality of material this was made out of. This case definitely gives me all the confidence in the world to do whatever I want to this phone at any environment. I don’t regret paying a pretty penny for this after actually using the case with the iPhone. It does also come with a cloth to clean the phone screen and the front case before closing the iPhone inside the case. Don’t hesitate to get it especially if it gives you peace of mind with your phone.

*Update: if you plan on using the MagSafe wireless charging pad it will get warm enough for the MagSafe to leave a circle where the magnets are on the back of the phone.no where does otterbox suggest you use the magsafe! i just figured with the charger port feeling flimsy out of the box it would probably be safest to not open it every single time i need to charge my phone since it is also waterproof via o ring. it happened after letting my phone sit and charge at work for 1.5 hours.Last thing here: again this case IS NOT/ ISN'T worth $10*Original: the front screen and shell from what i remember is the same quality as the lifeproof cases.the back camera is where the problems are going to happen. it's inevitable. instead of securing each camera and flash as part of the back of the case and using foam around that. Otterbox decided to put foam on the camera, cut the camera and flash out, put the plastic cover over it. so after putting your phone in and taking it out of your pocket for a while the quality is going to look bad.im not really sure but from my experience it seems the back camera plastic is more scratch/ skuff prone (lower quality than front screen)it's the same waterproof o ring method. it works! but test it before putting your phone in the case.sizing isn't wrong. you are if you buy the wrong size!definitely not worth $100! but it's also not just a cash grab. if you're dumb enough to pay $100 for a phone case that's on you. but it is definitely worth buying the used like new condition one for $30. i may have got lucky but i tested mine and it works just fine.otterbox should really look back at lifeproof cases and then redesign the FRĒ series and then charge $100 for a case that you only need to buy once and trust you won't need another one unless you have to use the warranty because of a freak accident.

In the past year I’ve gone through 4 of the Fre case for my iPhone 14 Pro. Since Otterbox bought Lifeproof, the quality of the waterproof housing is much improved and works well. However, the camera screen on the back is the main reason I keep having to buy a new case every 3 months. I take my camera when I swim in the ocean to take photos. After a couple months of using the case only for swimming, the camera screen is so scratched that I can’t take clear photos. The coating on the plastic is so scratched up that everything comes out blurry. Why not make a better screen that won’t scratch?Also if you try to use the phone to make calls without an external earphone connection, you can’t hear the speaker and the speaker can’t hear you.But hey, the phone won’t get wet! The housing is sturdy and durable.
