Perfect size for my new log burner
I dont have too much of a ‘hearth’ so didn't really want something that was too big. This is perfect, it holds quite a bit of ‘smokeless fuel’ but is discrete sitting alongside the stove

Sturdy and good looking
Perfect sitting by my fireplace in my cottage together with other fireplace items . Always filled with wood or coal ready to fire up.

Nice small sized bucket, well made and ideal for decorative purposes. Very pleased with it

Coal scuttle
Smaller than expected although that’s fine for me as I already have baskets for wood and kindling. Holds just enough for me. The build quality seems good and great value for money. No complaints at all.

Robust and overall size not too big
Not too big so that when I have filled it with coal I can pick it up easily. Solidly constructed with a strong comfortable handle. I eventually purchased a second one; one to bring the coal inside and the other used when removing the ash. Its compact size and black colour means it does not look out of place to the side of the fireplace. I have had these for a few years now and apart from the paint peeling off from the inside, they are as good as the day I purchased them I can highly recommend this item. Update: I have since purchased a second one which I use when emptying the fireplace of ash. Even with red hot ash in the bucket, the handle is sturdy and well away from the top of the bucket so that I can safely place the whole thing outside to cool down for a couple of days before disposing in my refuse bin using an old bag.

Surprisingly adequate
Have just had a small wood-burning stove fitted and wanted a smallish bucket so as not to 'overshadow' it. As far as style etc. goes this is great but - and a big but - this is not a sturdy bucket and has a thin handle and brackets. I would never fill it completely as I think the brackets might well give way. However, it does look the part although it means several trips to the coal shed instead of one. Further down the line I can see me purchasing something stronger. 8.2.13 This is a follow-up review. Have been using the coal bucket for a few months now and, despite my reservations, the handles have not parted company with the bucket. I still tend not to overfill it but have been pleasantly surprised there has not been a mishap. Long may it last!

Coal scuttle
Does the job, holding coal. Seems much stronger than my old one, of which the bottom broke apart. Good price too.
