Good phone with big buttons...
This was a repeat purchase for us. The Doro 100W is a very good phone with big buttons - in our case, ideal for an older person to see and simple to use.

Doro Phone for Ancient Parent.
91 Year old Great GrandMa requires an easy to use cordless phone! Her previous Panasonic cordless has done well but now just to small! Big is needed, big in everything. Big buttons, display/screen, big numbers, big sound. Doro specialise in this, don't they? Well this seems to fit the bill. The screen IS backlight, the 'Volume Boost' does increase the earphone volume about double! The old Great One does always use it on speaker as she sometimes can't (quickly) find her ear. The audio is good, loud and clear. We programmed in all the required telephone numbers, only just two on M1 and M2, the rest recall from one key on the number pad - press and hold. It does not easily get messed up by inadvertently 'overprogramming'.Thank God. BUT, now discovered, each handset has to be individually loaded with the numbers, unlike the Panasonic which stored it in the base ??.Not a problem really, we will do the bedroom phone next visit. On first switch on they are ready to go as they come ready 'Dect paired'. I need to read the book again to see if I can make it answer on pickup AND go straight to 'speaker phone'. The charging contacts seem to work solidly, doing all that they are supposed to do. One make we tried from Asda was hopeless in this respect, and was not backlight, but on the box it was! (or looked like) Yep! we are happy with our purchase, and the Doro 'mobile' cell phone we bought for Gt Nana has been great too.

Good but incorrect manual supplied. Difficult to program.
The item is fine, a little hard to program and only holding 20 numbers is limiting. The biggest problem was, that despite this claiming to be a UK and Irish version, the instruction manual was in Scandinavian. I did find the English pdf version online but at 40 pages long its too much to print up and leave with my elderly father who the phone is for. He likes to be independent so this is quite an issue for him. Also the bank is not recognising his voice for security, so this is causing a further problem for him. The hearing and speaking qualities seem good to us but the bank is saying there is background noise; just something to be aware of if you do buy this product.

Doro Phoneasy Cordless telephone
My friend who is not at all mobile now and couldn't get to her phone has found these to be a real godsend. My husband set up the main one in her hallway and the other right by the chair she sits in, she is absolutely delighted with them and doesn't feel cut off from the outside world any more.

Fails to work directly with BT Hub2 - which is the way to go
I bought this to use wirelessly direct to my BT HUb2. It claims to be a DECT (digital enhanced cordless telecoms) phone that is GAP (generic access profile) compatible. Despite this being stated in the manual (p21) no instructions are available for making this work, and though I unplugged the base to avoid a clash, and pressed the WPS pairing button on the hub, I could not get it to work, and gave up. I ordered a BT Essential handset, which came with a simple charging base (no phone line connection or wireless transceiver) and was able to get this going in minutes without even referring to the (much simpler) instruction sheet. Also found that the BT phone has a quick hands-free facility that is quite loud. Many people do not realise that once your landline has 'gone digital' (though it is often still 'copper' not full fibre) then the logical new way to do things is simply to pair the phone handsets with the BT Hub2 which already has built into it the ability to transmit and receive from up to 5 DECT GAP phones; no other base station needed and no wiring throughout the house! The range is quoted as 300m outdoors or 50m indoors depending on any walls in the way. GAP operates on 1900MHz, separately from the WiFi which is also included in the BT Hub2. What's more, you can use two handsets simultaneously for either outgoing or incoming calls, and you can call any handset of the five from any other one; a useful intercom facility if, like me, you have outbuildings such as an office in your garden. My advice is to forget about connecting old phones using the socket on the back of the hub. Just get the BT Essentials - it's audio and display are clear enough, and it seems hard to find other phones that truly work as they should direct to the hub wirelessly.

The electric charging plug is for European outlets. Therefore, I had to buy two adapters to plug the phones into US electrical outlets.

Die Ausstattung war in Englisch ,so hier in Deutschland nicht zu gebrauchen.Netzstecker passt in keine Steckdose.
