An absolute Chicago classic.
This clincher softball brought back many childhood memories.Same quality that I remember playing with 60 years ago.

A true Chicago icon
Nothing says Chicago like a 16" clincher softball! There are very few cities in the US where 16" ball is played and Chicago is far and away the best! This is not sissy softball with a glove, it is full on real softball with no gloves involved. I love playing this game and this ball is the real official clincher that I grew up with.

For Chicagoans
As a Chicagoan now living in the South, I need to teach the locals how a proper game of softball is played.A bigger bat, a bigger ball, and no gloves. Best played all afternoon with occasional pauses to rehydrate. This is the ball you need. Initially, it'll be as hard as a baseball, but a few games in, it'll resemble the softer 16-incher you grew up with.Let's play two!Anthony Trendltreefortbooks.com

Very Nice 16" Softball
Very nice softball. I grew up in Chicago playing all kinds of baseball since I was a kid. I played baseball, which in the very local culture and to differentiate from other versions, we called baseball, "league" or "hardball". We also played what we called "12 inch". And for what we called softball, we played with a 16" Clincher. We called the sixteen inch game, "softball". That is the only version of baseball we called "softball". Otherwise it was, "league" or "12 inch" for the other two versions of the game. My point to all this is that I have a long history of baseball, and with the "Clincher" in Chicago. This is a very nice ball, but it is not the same Clincher that we played with. This was a personal disappointment for me as I was looking back for a trip down memory lane. Don't misunderstand. This is a very good product. But for me this is not an official "Clincher" based on the evolution it has apparently gone through. I remember very vividly extracting a brand new "Clincher" from its box at the beginning of each softball game. This is not that ball.

Excellent
I grew up playing softball in Chicago for many years. This is the same ball, and breaks in at the same amount of time as back in the seventies, etc.. Love it!!
