BODUMBrazil 8 Cup French Press Coffee Maker, Black, 1.0 l, 34 oz

Bought this for those days when I am feeling generous and prepared to share my coffee beans with other family members. I imagined I'd be so overwhelmed by their gratitude for such as benevlolent act that I wouldn't mind washing it up afterwards although in all honesty I think I was hoping they'd do it. Anyway, it makes great cafetiere coffee and it's as sturdy as any of these things are. I went for Bodum because I thought that when I drop and smash the glass there would at least be a decent chance of being able to buy a replacement glass jug for it. Haven't smashed it yet so can't test out that theory but it turns out I do mind having to wash it and nobody else is volunteering. I never know what to do with the damp grinds. Can't just rinse them out down the sink or it will block (that's not just a theory, it happened) and scraping them into the food bin gives me the heeby-jeebies. If I had a garden and a garden tap I suppose I could rinse and chuck into the flowerbeds but I don't. Shoving the plunger part under the kitchen tap is obviously simple enough so it got 'easy to clean' stars for that bit.

I can't really fault this press. Reasonably priced, easy to use, pours well and seems sturdy.Best of all it is made in Portugal not China.

Does the job but needs to be handled with care as easy to break the glass.

Can't do without my coffee in the mornings

Easy to use, easy to clean. Good coffee if you purchase good coffee.

I use this cafetiere daily. It only gets 3 stars as it doesn't seem like it can hold 1L, and that although it claims to be dishwasher safe, it doesn't really dry well when the wash cycle is finished, as the black bottom bit is actually slightly raised...Another thing I'd like to point out is that it needs to be on the correct angle so that liquid won't drip from the tip after pouring it in your cup/container.

Bought 2 of these as we had 11 for dinner at Christmas. They did the job nicely for after dinner coffees. Easy to clean, although the coffee grounds make a mess in the sink. Only used them a couple of times so it's to early to comment on durability, but so far so good.

I bought this to replace my old one that had broken, I share it at work with my colleague and I am so glad I bought this one. Its perfect for our needs, easy to clean and I always get complements. It arrived very quickly and I would highly recommend this product.
