Product description Foo Fighters - Echoes Silence Patience and Grace - CD desertcart.co.uk Dave Grohls sixth album fronting post-grunge rockers Foo Fighters finds him softening his game somewhat, although not in the manner of 2005s In Your Honour, which countered the Foos stadium metal moves with a second disc of acoustic songs. Rather, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace sees Grohl taking cues from his beloved Led Zeppelin, penning a record that incorporates muscular rock shapes with piano ballads ("Statues"), picked acoustic moments ("Come Alive") and free-wheeling, classic-tinged jams like "Summers End"--a song about romantic dalliances in the "sweet Virginia countryside". While its undoubtedly a mature sort of record for the Foo Fighters, however, thats not to say that their edge has been blunted. With the band reunited with producer Gil Norton, whose skill for quiet/loud dynamics did a lot for 1997s The Colour and the Shape, tracks like "The Pretender" and "Erase/Replace" are muscular, dynamic rockers that balance subtle, atmospheric moments with epic bursts of rage. The track "Cheer up Boys (Your Make-Up Is Running)", meanwhile, feels like a jibe at the emo hordes whove tried, but failed, to dislodge Grohls crown. Comes as a double LP with the tracks 3 a side. Pressed on heavyweight 180gm vinyl which is very quiet indeed this is a lovely gatefold album. I've had the CD for ages and wasn't sure about getting a vinyl issue as it's a digital recording and mastering but, along with The Colour and the Shape it's my favourite Foo Fighters album so I thought I'd try it. I am so pleased - it's superb on vinyl - just trounces the CD version . The layers of vocals , guitar resonance, the bass all better. Ok it's still compressed but the delivery is so much warmer and goes a good bit louder ....! Expensive , but if you have a good turntable set up ( Rega, pro-ject and beyond ) and love this album I recommend it heartily ! One tiny gripe though - no poly lined inner sleeves for the records themselves which is a must in my opinion, so you'll have to purchase some separately .

Dave Grohl & The Foos do it again!
One of the most attractive records in the history of the Foos. Superbly written and played, there are so many musical gems to cherish, on this record, including the thunderous The Pretender and the heartwarming Home, two songs that so well illustrate the remarkable songwriting and performing skills of one of the best Rock bands worldwide of the last 3 decades.

3RD TIME OF BUYING THIS ALBUM IN CD FORM DUE TO FRIENDS BORROWING IT, NEVER RETURNING IT & ALSO PLAYING IT TO DEATH. WHAT CAN I SAY OTHER THAN IT'S MY FAVOURITE BAND & HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 21 YEARS. THIS ALBUM HAS HIT AFTER HIT & I LOVE IT. EACH SONG MEANS SO MUCH TO ME & TRANSPORTS ME BACK TO ANOTHER TIME, PLACE & MEMORY. REMEMBER THE STORY ABOUT THE MINERS STUCK FOR DAYS & WHEN ASKED WHT THEY WANTED ONE REQUESTED AN IPOD WITH FOO FIGHTERS ON. WELL THIS ALBUM HAS THE SONG WHICH DAVE GROHL WROTE FOR THEM TITLED " BALLAD OF THE BEACONSFIELD MINERS"

After looking into this I found that it is from the same year as the original an all copies that are sold now are like it, which was a bit of a disappointment ...
I got this to replace the CD which I had lost but the track list is very different from the original, with several songs missing and others added. After looking into this I found that it is from the same year as the original an all copies that are sold now are like it, which was a bit of a disappointment but the remaining original songs are good.

com um set que mais parece uma coletânea, esse disco ainda vem numa capa dupla, com encartes com fotos, e uma qualidade de áudio excepcional. Só senti falta das letras completas, a banda optou em colocar somente a letra dos refrões. Ótima compra, ótimo preço e envio rápido, recomendo.
