Good service deserves recognition
Order arrived as promised, well packed, on time and in good condition. We plan to monitor our water use for a month and then find out from water authority what that usage would cost if we have a water meter installed by the Authority, so that we can see if we will save money against the current water rates. This is an economical method of self-assessing our water use.

I have it all connected and it does the job ...
I have it all connected and it does the job with a clear dial, but there were no instructions and I had to pay someone to come and fit it as my pipes on the outside tap were not compatible with the fittings provided.

Price, calibration & non electronic
This sub meter is installed to record garden water usage & at 3 decimal place plus a further dial it is perfect for my intended use.Now the good part is that by informing your water company of the meter's reading they will credit you with the volume of water recorded as this water is not being returned to them as waste water!

Well made and does the job I wanted it for.
I bought this water meter for personal readings of our mains usage after having a water meter fitted by our supplier. It came with all the fittings necessary but, and this is a big but, no instructions about where to fit it in the supply line. I know some meters require a straight stretch of pipe before and after the meter to prevent turbulence affecting the reading but as there are no instructions I had to do the best I could. I'm not looking for absolutely accurate readings as this is a single jet meter and these can have problems recording very low flow rates. One thing you quickly realise is just how much water you use in a day, frightening really.

Cold Water meter
Did the job well and made to a high standard, scale is easy to read and calibrate will fit onto various tap fittings and useful dial that swivels

BSP Cold Water Meter
I bought six of these water meters for taps in my garden and paddocks and every one of them has broken in the frost and I have had to remove them so I do not think they are strong enough for use in gardens etc.

So Far So Good
Just to give you a little information that's lacking in the description:The dial is 70mm in diameter. The standard threaded ports are 3/4" BSP, and measure 110mm end to end.Step-down adaptors are provided which are threaded 1/2" BSP. These add another 35mm on each side. The depth behind the centre-line of the ports is 15mm.The depth from the centre-line of the ports to the front of the face is 58mm and with the cover on, 65mm.The dial can be rotated to whichever way is up, so you can install it in any orientation and still read it.The minimum flow rate which can be measured is 30 litres per hour, but for accurate measurement, 50 litres per hour or more is ideal. Max flow rate is 3,125 litres per hour.Body is cast brass. Mechanics are mostly plastic, which is to be expected - you don't want it going rusty. It's not going to be as accurate as the piston type meters the water board use, but it will be a useful guide to usage.I can't see a way to reset the meter, but you can run it backwards and forwards even just by blowing into the ports.Time will tell how accurate and reliable it is.If you're planning to install it outdoors, although it's 'frost resistant' I'd recommend draining it before the winter, as you should do with any external pipework. Stick a drain cock somewhere in-line or below it.
