Good value for money
This is a good price protein powder. One thing that surprised me, compared to others I've had in the past, was just how well this dissolves. It's not clumpy or powdery and it mixes really smooth - and I do mean really smooth. The only thing I would say is that one scoop gives a subtle flavour (I got vanilla). I think for my personal taste I'd probably prefer two scoops in 200ml of water, but that would double the cost of course. The taste is pleasant - it's just not super strong. I'm taking this to keep my protein levels sensible while I lose weight by cutting calories, so it's important for me to keep my intake of protein up. I can't speak about any bodybuilding benefits because that's not what I'm using it for.

Tasty and attractive price.
I’d put a few pounds on last year but being on a low carb diet (I’d gone off piste to put weight on..) I knew I could lose a pound a week very comfortably by getting back on the diet, even with a cheat-day Saturday. However, I was also looking to finally start using the home gym I’d fitted, so needed to ensure my daily protein intake was high enough to ensure that the muscle I’d be breaking down would be repaired and increased. Long story short, a protein shake can top up the protein without adding too many calories so are ideal. Now I’d used protein shakes a long time ago from this company and loved the Dutch Chocolate flavour as it wasn’t too sweet, and even after months of daily shakes I never felt inclined to change flavours. Unfortunately they no longer make this, so I opted for the Salted Caramel and bought the large 2.5kg bag as it works out cheaper. If I didn’t like the flavour, tough. As it is, the flavour is fine and I’m halfway through the bag, having just the one shake as a last ‘meal’. One scoop of whey gives you 22g of protein, and at one time it was suggested that the body could only absorb/digest around 20 grams at once, with any more than that basically wasted. More recent studies suggest it ‘could’ be double that, so let’s say around 30 grams is probable. With this in mind, if you mixed your shake with 200ml of full fat milk you’d have 28g of protein and a nice creamy shake. Personally I mix a scoop of protein into 200ml of water and add one raw egg, because there’s a lot of goodness/nutrients in an egg as well as 7g of protein and some saturated fat which I need on a low carb diet for fuel. My 29g of protein shake with water and egg is whisked with an electric hand blender in a tall plastic beaker and has zero lumps or texture. I also add a 5g scoop of Creatine which is great for recovery, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that my local ‘Home Bargains’ store has a very large range of high quality Creatine products and even protein in one isle, so I picked a 500g tub up at a decent price which also contained Magnesium.

Great Taste and Quality Protein!
This whey protein powder is excellent — smooth texture, great vanilla flavor, and mixes easily. Perfect for post-workout shakes or adding extra protein to meals. Really happy with the quality and value!

Excellent quality, taste and texture; great value too!
Having used a fair number of protein brands out there over the years and struggling to find one that is affordable, tastes nice (or even ok), and mixes well, I am pleased to find that bulk powders satisfies all three of these criteria. It, especially the larger bag here (I ordered 2.5kg), represents excellent value for money for what is a decent and high quality product that will last me a fair amount of time. I’ve broken down my review into various aspects below. The powder arrived swiftly after ordering, securely packaged, and in excellent, undamaged condition. Taste Ok, so a load of protein powders I have had in the past taste absolutely awful. Bulk Powders, as any protein powder, won’t be winning any culinary awards but does, in my mind, taste far and away better than a lot of what’s out there. Over the years I have tried vanilla, chocolate, chocolate cookies, raspberry, and strawberry. All of them are great and very drinkable with just the right amount of flavour and sweetness. Ordinarily, vanilla and strawberry are my favourites, and I find they all taste (much!) better when mixed with milk. With water they’re ok but are much more ‘thin’ and lacking in a bit of depth of flavour in my opinion. Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry all mix well into smoothies too and complement, rather than overpower, other ingredients. I like to make a coffee/protein shake in the morning and mix in some espresso shots with a vanilla shake. The vanilla especially is useful in baking and other less traditional uses for protein powder and blends well into recipes. Texture I usually shake mine up with milk, which with a little shaking produces a relatively smooth and palatable drink without lumps and, importantly, is not gritty. It is almost an in between of a protein shake and a milkshake. I’m less of a fan with water, but for me that holds true whatever protein powder I am using. It’s more thin and I prefer the thicker and creamier texture of when it is mixed with milk. However, mixed with water still produces a perfectly fine shake that is not, unlike many other brands, lumpy and gritty. I typically mix with water when taking it to the gym with me as I don’t want to have milk in my bag and am not disappointed with the results. Quality Bulk Powders protein powder are high quality in terms of nutritional profile. Even though it’s much cheaper, it stands up against more established premium (read: expensive) brands. I’ve had no issues with using this and it’s a fantastic dietary supplement. Storage and measurement Unlike many brands out there that come in bulky tubs, Bulk Powders come in a durable plastic bag with a resealable (zip-lock style) top. The material the bag is made of makes it as sturdy as any tub and I have never had any issues of them breaking or tearing or any other issues. It’s easier to store as it’s much more flexible and has a bit of give to it where solid plastic would not. The only issue I do have sometimes is being able to reseal it successfully. This isn’t usually a problem, and the seal is very useful in maintaining the integrity of the product over time by keeping out air and moisture, but is a little frustrating and fiddly at times. That said, I struggle with most seals of this kind and my issues here are likely a product of that as opposed to this particular bag. A powder scoop, measuring one serving of powder, that comes with the bag is absolutely wonderful. It’s easy to use and to accurately measure your servings without having to faff around with spoons and scales. It’s made of a durable plastic and is a really handy addition to the powder. Value for money Bulk Powders are definitely one of the most affordable producers of protein powder out there. They are consistently one of the cheapest brands out there and you can save a great deal of money when purchasing from them, especially if you buy in (as their name punnily suggests) bulk. Even though it’s cheap and excellent value for money, it does not compromise on quality, making it a sure bet if you want to add some protein to your diet. Summary In summary, this protein powder from Bulk Powders is high quality, excellent value for money and, in my opinion, consistently of a much better taste and texture than other brands out there. It stores well and lasts a long time and is housed in a convenient and high quality bag with a really useful scoop added. Having used this brand for years (for many different flavours as well as their creatine supplement, which is also excellent by the way) I am confident in giving this a wholehearted five stars and a high recommendation. If you’re going to get yourself some protein powder, you’d do well considering Bulk Powders. Smooth, reliable whey for daily use
I’ve been using this Bulk vanilla whey for about two years now and now trying the chocolate! and it’s the one I keep coming back to. The first thing I noticed when I switched was how smooth it mixes. A lot of other powders I tried before either clumped up or had that chalky aftertaste, but this one blends easily in a shaker with water or milk. No weird grit at the bottom and the flavour is mild enough that I don’t get sick of it. What I like most is that it feels clean. Some proteins have a long list of fillers or a strong artificial taste, but this one is pretty straightforward. It’s never upset my stomach, even when I use it daily. I’ve also used it for baking, which has honestly been a game changer. It works well in things like pancakes or protein muffins without drying them out or making them taste overly “protein-y.” If you want something reliable that you don’t have to overthink, this is a solid option. Mixing, taste and ingredients are all consistent, and after two years of using it I’ve never had a reason to switch.

Returning customer for many years!
I'm not gonna write a long and draw out review because I come back to order the same Bulk Vanilla protein powder multiple times a year whenever I need to restock. I think it is inarguably the best overall protein you can get on the market right now with good consistency, low sugar content, relatively low calories, a good value for money, and most importantly for most - an actual appealing flavour. I got onto Bulk brand products after my former favourite protein brand Olimp massively jacked up their prices. I still think the flavour of Olimp protein is absolutely the top tier but measured across all the things that actually matter for protein (especially price) I always recommend Bulk.

Delicious for a protein powder
Tastes absolutely amazing, doesnt taste grainy or really chemically like other protein powders. Great value for the money as well, around the same price per 1kg as other brands and good protein amount per serving. Really nice when mixed into porridge as well. Vanilla tastes amazing.

Smooth Mixing and Good Taste
Mixes smoothly and tastes good for a vanilla whey protein. Easy to use daily and low in sugar. Feels like a solid option for muscle recovery and general supplementation.
