Is this a direct replacement for hd105/g c/447?

Hi, bought this from you last year to replace a broken one. Fits perfectly but again the bottom basket has broken. Do you sell the bottom basket only?

Sorry, can't answer that, but suspect you have to buy both parts.

The floating collar allows air into the system and risks blowing the pump. How do I remedy this?

Make sure that the Basket is connected properly to the top of the unit. It has to click in and turn to make sure it is attached. Then the collar just slips in and moves up and down with the suction of the pool pump. Have had these for 20 years but you must make sure the top clicks and turn to make a good fit. The collar does it's own job! hope this helps
