The old ones are the best.
Update to the below review : So I've used this as a make up remover for about 2-3 weeks now, and I've seen a big difference in my skin. I had very dull looking skin with patches of extremely dry skin but now there's no more dull dry patches and much less breakouts than normal. I caught sight of myself in a mirror last week and though 'wow my skin looks nice'. I've just been slathering this on each night then using cotton pads to take it off (every time I'm amazed by how much makeup etc comes off). That's it. I've not bothered with moisturiser, other than a little bit of Nivea round my eyes in the vain attempt to stop wrinkles getting worse, and still my skin looks so much clearer, moisturised and generally healthier. After 3 weeks use, I've only used about 1/2 a cm from the tub. Bargain! Wish I'd found this years ago. -----Original review------- I've been using cold cream for about 6 months now and love it. However I purchased Crowes Cremine as an alternative to Ponds Cold Cream because as much as I love Ponds, I was finding it too expensive as I was going through about 1 pot per week as the pots are so tiny and you need to use quite a bit each night. The reviews of Cremine were good so thought i'd give it a go and so far I'm really impressed. It has a different texture to the cold cream I'm used to, it's a bit more paraffin wax based, but a little bit goes a LONG way and took off much more makeup and dirt than my previous cleanser. The tub is quite large so I think this should last a long time. It's easy to use, just rub it in well and use cotton pads to take it off. It smells very nice and leaves skin extremely soft and silky. Can't make any comments about long term use yet - I'm hoping that I don't have any breakouts or reactions to it long term, as I do really like it and would like to keep using it.

good for makeup removal, especially cream based and fullers earth
does the job, cuts down on makeup removal time and stops you overworking the skin.

I have known this product for 50 years
My grandmother was a ballet dancer and right into her 80's she used this every day having used it for removing stage make up in her youth. When I began using make up she introduced me to it and it did the job very well even removing waterproof mascara. However I was a teenager with oily skin so it didn't suit me and I started using baby oil for my eye make up and a wash off cleanser for the rest of my mu. Now I am older I have gone back to it but I remove with a hot cloth and it is every bit as good as other hot cloth cleansers like Eve Lom. It is definitely not for young/oily skin and it will leave a greasy residue so you need to apres wash or use a toner. Teenagers leave it along as you will get blackheads but for dry skin this is cheap and brilliant. I also use it on my knees and ankles when applying fake tan as it prevents orange knees.

Gentle on the skin
This is a product I used in my teens and twenties. Advertised as strong enough to remove the strongest (stage) make up but very gentle on the skin, I was an enthusiastic customer.. Time passed and unfortunately the product was no longer available at the local chemist/department store. I presumed it was no longer being manufactured. Recently, I went on-line, there it was and I could buy it from Amazon! I placed an orderand it arrived very quickly. The product is as good as ever, even smells the same and still at a bargain price. Thank you!

this is a useful product
I ordered this just because I'd read about it in a magazine & wanted to try it. Unfortunately it was badly handled during delivery. Obviously crushed at the bottom of a big pile of parcels & it arrived with a crack round the plastic pot, so that the product had leaked. It slipped out of my hands like a bar of soap! But I kept it (in a plastic bag!) It removes make up and, I have discovered, it's the best foot "cream". Not really a cream as it has a consistency a bit like coconut oil. But apply to feet before putting your socks on for the day & at night time when you take your socks off, your feet will be amazing!!

Best eye makeup remover ever!
I have used this product for years and years. I use it for removing eye make up, it’s so gentle. Just gently apply with fingertips and then wipe off with tissue or cotton pad. I then like to use a face wash for rest of my face (my skin type has always been oily/combination). My mum, however, who introduced me to this in the first place when I first started wearing makeup (40 years ago!) had normal/dry skin and liked to use it on all of her face. She would tissue it off but then leave it at that, as it is very moisturising. On the rare occasions that we couldn’t get hold of any, we were always disappointed with any other brands we tried. My daughter is now a fan of it too!

Thanks to Paul O'Grady for the recommendation!!
I had never heard of this until I read Paul's books where he mentions that he used for removing his stage make-up. What a brilliant find. It is a great as a cleanser (better by far than ANYTHING I have ever used); a great moisturiser for dry skin (may be too much greasy for oily skin) and I have also tried using it instead of shaving cream on my legs and it leaves your skin very soft indeed, although you must give the razor a good scrub with a nail brush afterwards. I'm wondering if anybody has ever tried using it as a hair serum for dry hair. If so, please share your thoughts. Finally, a little goes a very, very long way so a 200 ml tub is going to last forever. Thank you Paul.
