VANDOREN Reeds Alto Sax 2 Traditional (3 Pack)

Good quality reeds for an alto JP saxophone and do not affect the sound .

Bought as a trial to vary make and strength etc. Although marked as a #2, they play with the stiffness of a 2 1/2, as does the Vandoren V16 (marked 2, plays harder.) But that's the object of testing. They feel comparative to a Rico Royal 2 1/2. They'll keep.

I started learning the sax a few months ago so am a relative beginner. As recommended by my tutor I started with a 1.5 - A Ricoh as it happens which came with the Sax I bought. My tutor had said I should wait until I'd developed my mouth muscles before moving up to a 2. After three months or so I decided to move to a 2 and used the Ricoh that had also come with the Sax. I seemed to get on quite well with that so when it came to buying some more I decided to see what the Vandoren 2 reeds were like. I'm sure they are perfectly acceptable as a reed per se, but I find them stiffer than the equivalent Ricoh and I have trouble getting them to vibrate quite as easily. Seemingly there is no sort of standard between different makes of reed. I'm going to order some Vanden 1.5s to see if they are more akin to a Ricoh 2, and also some more Ricoh 2s. Just my 2ps worth

Bought these as I have progressed over the last year as a new player up to now I would use a Vandoren 1.5 strength which after playing with a Rico 1.5 for half an hour could manage the 1.5 Vandoren as we all know are a slightly higher strength. So now I start playing with 1.5 Vandoren and after a warm up period slip in the 2 Vandoren reed strength they are harder to play with but again the tone is that much better. Hopefully in another year my playing skills will allow me to use the Vandoren 2 strength. These are value for money.

Ich hatte vorher Reeds eines anderen Herstellers für ein paar Euro weniger. Diese klingen und funktionieren aber einfach viel besser. Ich hätte direkt ein paar Euro mehr investieren sollen, denn die des anderen Herstellers sind jetzt in der Tonne... Der Versand ging auch recht zügig - 7 Tage aus GB. Top!
