Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Well worth having in your kitchen. Highly, highly recommended. - I LOVE this book! I wanted a recipe book that would provide delicious recipes for my non meat and dairy diet. I also wanted to cut down my gluten intake. I love Indian food and love the fact I can cook a curry or dal and freeze it for work or later in the week, which makes the recipes very versatile. This book is a great addition to my cookbook shelf and I'm really enjoying finding new recipes to try. Richa is very considerate suggesting options to adapting recipes to make them gluten free, which is brilliant. She also makes suggestions to make recipes soy free, and process-food free. A real effort it made with this book to make the recipes accessible to all. I've tried a few recipes so far and they were tasty and delicious. Richa explains her background and history with food and the general traditions of the cuisine. I was concerned about buying so much of the spice ingredients but they were so cheap and well worth the flavour they provide. Also most of the recipes require the same spices! So I've been able to make recipes on the fly because I have the necessary ingredients. Fab! I love that the flavours make the meals so tasty that meat-eaters love them. This is the first time I've heard of Richa but I had to go and check out her blog to see her other recipe suggestions. The only issues I had with the book: Firstly the measurements are in US cups which is really annoying to work out to grams/ounces. I had to buy separate measuring utensils for the recipes to make sure they're accurate. Also instead of saying, for example, 4 tomatoes, it would say 1 cup. So I have to cut up the tomatoes to know how much I need rather than by how many actually tomatoes. This is quite annoying. Secondly, some of the recipes are very long-winded and take quite a bit of time, especially if you're doing a few at a time. This may quicken the more I do it, but I found it taxing at times. Also there isn't a picture for every recipe, although she does clearly try to show them all (albeit on different pages). However these things do not outweigh the benefits of the book. Great book for those who love brilliant tasting food. Review: Amazing book - We are not a vegan or even vegetarian famaily, but decided we would like to cut down the amount of meat we eat because of a number of reasons. As we are both meat eaters and come from background where a lot of meat and dairy is eaten, we thought it may be very difficult to find tasty recipes that would be also filling. I got this book alongside a few others in an attempt to find some inspiration. I absolutely love it. I have always been a bit afraid of curries, as I imagined the amount of spices I would have to get would be too much, but actually once you get the main few, you can do most of the recipes with them. I tried a few recipes, and all have been brilliant. The instructions are easy to follow, and everything tastes absolutely great. Recipes are also easily adaptable if I want to made them vegetarian instead of vegan. I have not tried everything, but what I did became some of my all time faves. So many of these can be done and packed away as lunches to take to work. Big thumbs up- and that comes from someone who would not imagine a few days without meat on the plate!

Amazing book

Absolutely wonderful, one week, 5 recipes made, a winner every time!
We got this book a week or so ago, and have now made 4 different meal recipes, and one bread recipe (paratha) - every single one a winner. With a little bit of thinking, the recipes are totally WFPB compliant (e.g. swapping coconut milk for silken tofu and dessicated coconut) and utterly utterly delicious! We have a well stocked bean, spice and herb cupboard anyway, so didn't need to get anything special - you might be daunted by the amount of spices, in terms of preparation, but it's nothing. Read the recipe, get out the appropriate spices ahead of time, even combine those that can be combined - all part of the prep. If you do this, it's a cinch when you get round to the cooking. It is an American book, so there are measurements in cups, but either buy a set of measuring cups, or to be honest, choosing a mug from your cupboard, and using that or cup measurement going forward, and you'll be fine. I cannot recommend this book highly enough if you like Indian food - doesn't matter whether you're WFPB, Vegan, Vegetarian, or an Omnivore, this book should definitely be in your collection and used regularly.
