Oxford products OF4 Big Boss Alarm Disc Lock 16mm

I had my moped stolen a few weeks ago so decided I needed to upgrade. I have an Oxford chain and they are the best for for chains and lock and stumbled across this and tbh I have never been disappointed. It’s an amazing lock I have seen people walk up to my bike and see the lock and they don’t even attempt to toutch it at all now. You can either set the alarm or just use it as a normal lock. I set my alarm and use this lock every single time I am not on my bike. Amazing well with it. The lock it’s self is strong and the alarm feature wi attract attention and scare thief’s off it’s worked for me all ready well worth the money

It’s a big yellow monster - You’ll not forget its fitted. I think it’s a good visual deterrent too because of its size (16mm). The alarm is a bit weak sounding - but at this price-point, it’s a very good and well proven and strong hefty disk lock that should keep any potential scum-bag’s eyes off my metal and tempt ‘em to go and look for easier pickings further up the road.

This lock could be amazing, I wish they would bring out a v2.0. I would pay an extra £10-20 for the flaws to be addressed.What you get for the price though despite all its problems still a 4/5.I'd have one of these on a chain or wheel, with a better alarm disc lock alongside it.Pros:-Lockpicking lawyer took above average time to pick it, and needed a special tool something thieves won't have. The curved keys imply the keyway is unique.-Robust chunky lock.-Highly visible deterrent.-Big shackle clearance, should fit around most discs, if not it'll fit around something.-Nice design on the alarm mode/no alarm settings just rotate the shackle-Recognised device on insurers list-Considering its price-3 keysCons:-Not loud enough, and if you muffle the siren with your thumb it's very quiet.-Alarm doesn't sound for long enough. It warns, then alarms anyway, and after 10sec switches off. Ok it'll repeat this, but could give a thief a warning to rethink their attack, while the neighbours left thinking it was a false alarm of no concern. (If they even hear it)-I can actually move this thing about quite a bit without triggering it as long as I'm slow and gentle. Sudden jerky movements seem to be what trigger it.-Keyway has a mind of its own sometimes, it gets stuck and I feel like if I force it the key is more likely to snap, I'm wiggling it until whatever it is comes unstuck, while the baby alarm lulls me to sleep.-there is this weird bit of metal cover over the keyway that rotates independently of the keyway itself and often gets in the way, faff.

I bought this a number of years ago, it’s still going strong although I don’t use the alarm as I’m to far away to hear it, I also use a ground anchor with other Oxford locks yes I meant locks

Not as loud as I would have expected but overall a good lock easy to carry and strong

Lock is solid, easy to use, unfortunately the "500m reaching alarm sound" as written on the original product box is not there in my lock. The volume I get is no louder than a phone ringtone. I tried replacing the batteries, no help.

I bought this as an extra security feature really good lock can be fiddly when opening more so in the dark it's a shame the key doesn't have a built-in light the alarm is OK but I tend to use this if in vicinity I did buy the 14mm but swopped for the 16mm for a few extra quid and was worth swoppingReturn easy to do easier then I thought it would be

If a professional thief wants to steal your bike they will, regardless of security systems. This is a great deterrent for the opportunist. It's big and bold and makes a loud noise. Easy to fit difficult to break. Perfect.
