Haven't tried microwaving it for heat treatment but this works as a cold treatment for tennis elbow. The velcro strap works well to hold it in place and you soon forget you are wearing it. Not too cold straight from the freezer (the instructions say put it in a sealed bag to freeze). In terms of cost, it does has the same theraputic effect as using a small bag of frozen peas but it takes some ingenuity to construct a strap to hold a bag of peas against your elbow with material between (a bag of peas is too cold against the skin). So if you are a regular sufferer give this a try. If you go down the frozen veg route, try using something you won't accidentally subsequently eat - for me that's sweetcorn!

I do a lot of DIY painting, screwing, repetitive stuff and my wrists suffer. I find ice packs really help & this is handy with the strap. It doesn't drip like a bag of ice would either. I'm not sure about the claim that it keeps cold for 20 minutes. I've not timed it but it doesn't seem that long. Not tried it as a heat pack yet.

Disappointed!! Bought as it said the pearls changed colour showing you if Cold, Ambient or Hot.... Heated them in Microwave for time stated, No Change in Colour!! Not happy!! Stop Advertising that they change colour!!

Good product but beads do get too hot so need to reduce temperature of microwave or leave to cool a while. Effect when cold.

I've been suffering from TMJ and needed a convenient size ice pack to place on my jaw to help with the swelling. Although this is more designed for arms and legs, it is just the right size to press against my jaw. One of the reviews on here says that it doesn't stay cold for any more than ten minutes but my own experience is that it stays cold for more than the 20 minutes stated. I haven't tried it as a hot pack but as a cold pack it is ideal.

I got these for tendinitis they are cold but get warm quite quickly

It is a good product. It does do what it says.
