Skytronic GOLD 1 to 2 RCA PHONO AV AUDIO VIDEO Y SPLITTER ADAPTER

Very poor quality.
I bought two of these so I could have my Sky Digibox and Ps3 audio running into one Auxilary port on my amp. The toggle between the two being turning one of the devices off or on.So, when I want to have the ps3 coming out of the amp, I turn off the Sky box, and vice versa. The item on this page effectively doubles the amount of red/white audio cables you can put into your amp/hi-fi.Now, I must say that the items do indeed work. It does split the input as I had hoped. However, the sound quality is so poor that it's not worth doing. It's comparable to splitting a tv ariel signal. The more you split it, the worse the picture. The same applies with this product. It does what it says on the tin, but at the cost of sound quality. Not worth it in my book. I'd rather go get myself a new amp with twin aux inputs rather than mess around with cheap components like this. - something I should have done in the first place. Oh well. Lesson learned. So yeah, avoid this product if sound quality is important to you.

Really poor quality
Got these as I needed a connection from a 2 RCA to a single RCA and didn't want to have to get another cable. Lets just say I would of been better getting another cable as the connection these make are HORRENDOUS!!! To start they are lose when you plug the single end RCA into most things. Second the whole connecting moves and is not solid, which I think leads to the terrible buzzing you get out of any speaker its attached to. You have to find just the right place by constantly twisting and moving the cable to get it to sit in just the right place to make a good connection. One bump and that's it connection lost and buzzing once again.Don't waste your money on these and just buy the cable you need.

BETTER SURROUND SOUND
I wanted to add two more speakers to my A/V Receiver, an Onkyo TX-SR308, but it has limitd RCA sockets. It has other RCA sockets, which the two additional speakers 'were' connected, but I had to switch between speaker options 'A' & 'B' which became a nuisance. The scenario was this; My PC is connected to the lounge TV, which is connected to the Onkyo and I set the TV to External Speakers. Then I bought a new monitor to use instead of the TV {it was hard to read text with the TV as a monitor} which I connected to the PC's Graphics Card, along with the TV's HDMI cable, but using a DVI to HDMI cable {which then allowed me to Dual Monitor}. When I wanted to use the speakers for the new monitor, I had to switch to speakers 'B' {the Onkyo has 2 sets of Front Left & Right speaker terminals}. So I decided to try these RCA Splitters so that I could connect both sets of Front & Right Speakers to the same terminals, hence speaker setup 'A' only, but I needed to connect the RCA jacks to the same RCA sockets. Thus, with two of these splitters I connected both Red and White jacks for the audio of the both sets of speakers-one set from the PC and the other from the TV-to the same A/V Receiver sockets. The Onkyo Manual recommends you don't connect more than one set of speakers, but if you don't try?RESULT: The speakers work fine, and I only need to use the same setting, 'A' speakers, the TV/CD button on the remote, which still gives me all the sound effect options for the TV 'AND' the monitor, I.e. Pro-Logic II Movie, Neo 6 Cinema, Theatre Dimensional, etc. Here's the monitor I bought; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005QVZ79C/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00And the cable; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001TH7T2U/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00THERE IS ONE LAST THING: I BOUGHT THESE SPLITTERS THINKING I WOULD GET TWO (2), DUE TO THE WORDING ON THE DESCRIPTION '2 of:', BUT YOU ONLY GET ONE (1). I CONTACTED THE SELLER, WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE '2' IS REFERRING TO THE TWO SOCKETS, AND NOT TWO SPLITTERS. IT IS MISLEADING BECAUSE THE WORDING THEN GOES ON TO STATE 'RCA plug TO 2 x RCA sockets', MAYBE THEY NEED TO RESIT THEIR ENGLISH EXAM.

Good product shame about packing
Quality & delivery good, but why oh why did you send these 2 tiny splitters ordered at the same time in 2 separate large cardboard envelopes? What a waste of material, packing probably cost much more than the products!!!

Not great
Inputs and the output are loose, when i plug into my sub the sub becomes active - like there is a short, and the single output is not sturdy - it wiggles in its housing so i think the one i have is faulty

Superb! (Don't listen to the moaners)
Saddo or not - my life is my audio-visual equipment & I was having problems connecting up an extra DVD player to my surround sound home theater, so I bought two of these babies & they work just fine. How on earth anyone can criticise them is beyond me.Seriously, when people state "they worked fine for about a month" - exactly what are you doing with them to break them?Playing rugby with them? Going on mountain bike rides with them in your rucksack? They are very sturdily built & are pieces of equipment that are NOT supposed to be moved in & out every two minutes - or else they will indeed break &/or snap. But once you have placed the splitter onto your home equipment (again, mine was for my surround sound) leave them alone & I promise you they will last longer than your equipment does!If you are wanting solid gold splitters that are made with a dash of titanium - these ain't for you. But for the grand price of 61 pence (free delivery worth 60p?) - these are outstanding & would recommend them to anyone. Finally, the speed with which they arrived was brilliant.I ordered on the Monday & they had arrived by the time I got back from work on Wednesday in a little brown jiffy bag.Thank you!
