Hilka 84800400 Manual Grease Gun 500 cc Capacity, Silver/Blue, 500cc

My mower requires regular greasing of the wheel bearings and steering column. My old grease gun finally gave up on me and I decided to get a new one. After a little research I bought this grease gun. Other retailers sell this gun and it has a lot of great reviews. The price here on Amazon is brilliant and for me it was an easy decision. I read all of the reviews on here too and I think that some of the poor reviews are down to people not knowing how to fit the cartridge correctly or adjust the nozzle if it is sticking on to the grease nipple in use. I have included a video that shows how to do these things and also gives you a look at the product. This grease gun has a very solid feel to it, totally unexpected for this price. The tube has a non slip textured paint finish that makes it very easy to grip. It comes with a rigid nozzle or flexible hose and requires some assembly on arrival. I would use PTFE (plumber's) tape on the threads to make sure that there is a good seal in the body of the gun and nozzle. There are no instructions for assembly, but it is pretty straight forward, you need a 12mm and a 14mm spanner to fit the flexible hose. There are instructions on the side of the box for installing a cartridge or filling manually. Please see the video for assembly and the issues I mentioned above. In the video you will see that the nozzle can be adjusted if you cannot remove it from the grease nipple and you will also see that when a grease cartridge is installed the plunger rod should be pushed right up into the tube even though it is full. I think a spring pushes the piston along the cartridge and the rod as the grease is used preventing air ingress. It is totally different to the old grease guns where the plunger had the piston fixed to the rod and the rod was stuck out of the tube when the gun was full. I am very pleased with this grease gun and my mower has now been greased. Cartridges are so clean and easy to install, gone are the days of getting blathered in grease when refilling. For the price this grease gun is brilliant!

bit tricky to load and nozzle very tight on all fittings. hard to get off. but does its job

This is brilliant for the money. Fits standard 400ml cartridges perfectly, the purge valve works great for bleeding the air out and the grease fitting is adjustable by screwing wider or narrower by hand so I can get a snug fit on my nipples (oohh errr) but still get it detached just by pulling off at an angle (ooohh errr again). Reviewers who say this either leaks or gets stuck on, are using it wrong. The end fitting is adjustable, so adjust it!!! The only grease gun you will need. Miles better than the pistol grip style.

Great tool and excellent build quality. Accepts standard size tube. Cheapest on Amazon but by far the best.

Seems good but someone forgot to put a holding button on the gun, so you can withdraw the plunger so you can load it with a cartridge etc etc, but no this one when you pull the handle out you have to keep the pressure on it or all the grease will shoot out the end!!! But other than that it seems quite sturdy, does the job and lasts slightly longer than 5 mins! Way better than the Silverline ones anyway.

Advised by my son who uses this grease gun on a regular basis -he cannot fault it. Easy to use, no issues. He liked it so much he brought another. Excellent value for money.

È un'ottima pistola di ingrassaggio che supporta le normali cartucce di grasso ed anche la possibilità di caricarla con grasso sfuso e non nelle comode cartucce che però io preferisco. Una caratteristica che ho molto apprezzato è che l'asta posteriore con la cartuccia o il grasso sfuso inserito rientra totalmente nella pistola non occupando spazio rendendone l'utilizzo molto facilitato da un minor ingombro.

El defecto principal es que el aplicador no es fácil de desconectarlo. Hay que desenroscarlo y no es pactico

Es un producto bastante bueno, lo que me parece que el racord de goma el bastante estrecho echando poca grasa, por lo que el el tiempo de engrase es mayor. Por lo demás cumple perfectamente
