Very nice grill pan.
Not as heavy as cast-iron, needed that. Does a great job as a stove top grill. And because it is cast aluminum instead of cast-iron, I will use it both as a grill pan and as a stove top simmer pan. With the lid on, I can braise a dish stove top instead of putting it in the oven. With cast-iron, you might be concerned about ruining the nonstick surface, if you used it that way, but with this you don’t have that problem. Those were my ideas when I bought it, and it’s working out well. Very well built, I expect it to last and last.

Like the high ridges
It would be nice if the handle is detachable so I can put it in the oven. The knob can be a little higher so that you don’t touch the glass lid when it’s hot. Lid can leak at the corners.

This is my 2nd purchase.First one i bought from an office store. I was so impressed by it after using it for over 6months that i ordered this. Quality is excellent including the handle.Coatings are really non-stick whether we use oil or not.I would recommend to use a little bit of oil though if you pan to use for long term. Excellent heat transmission that would save Gas.Usually SIM mode is enough.Best thing is it doesn't emit any bad smell or bad taste that many other products from various manufactures.I have used it for deep/shallow fries.toasting,curries etc. We have been long time Prestige users.But their current products were disappointing and waste of money.I don't know if we were sold duplicate products by the offline store.So i tried Hawkins. I should say that I'm thoroughly impressed by some of the Hawkins products i bought.Especially their Hawkins Futura line up.I would highly Hawkins Futura Nonstick Dosa Tava, Diameter 33 cm if you like Dosa :) I bought a second one recently :) I'm not Hyping it.I think you too would be as impressed. Yes it might seem bit more pricey but its well worth.
