Great book but needs complete accuracy
The book is geared for readers aged 6 – 9 years; although I am > 80yrs, I enjoyed observing how the writer created the text for young children and also purchased it to support her cause (the text will be passed on to an appropriate young girl). I have only one critique to make in regards to complete accuracy:On the inside cover of the book, it reads “Judit Polgar dazzled the world as a chess prodigy, winning tournaments, gold medals, and defeating eleven world champions, including Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen.”While this is technically correct, it is not totally accurate. As great as Judit Polgar is she, never beat Magnus Carlsen or Garry Kasparov in formal classical chess games. In Classical games, Magnus Carlsen beat Judit Polgar 2 to 0, with 1 draw, whereas Garry Kasparov beat Judit Polgar 5 to 0, with 2 draws. She did however beat them in the rapid forms of chess games. In fact, she beat Magnus Carlsen in just 19 moves in one of these games. The lack of triumph in classical games does not in any way diminish her superior talent and abilities. Managing a draw in classical chess with world champion chess players speaks volumes about her extraordinary chess talent. She is the greatest female chess player todate.Young girls (and boys) that read this book should know the exact accurate truth. Perhaps it will inspire one of the girls to beat a future world champion chess player in a classical game (which is how all World Chess Championship Tournament games are played).
