Yes but it has to ride over the bump which joins the two sides of the bridge

Do all brio trains fit this ferry as the Safari train does not fit my 40 year old ferry?

All the brio trains we have (dating from 1985 to present day) ones fit the harbour ferry

How many carriages can you fit inside the ferry boat?

There’s 26cm of track at shortest taper on boat end. Depends on what train used. Fits Thomas, his tender, with either 1 average carriage or 2 small carriages ( all wheels on but one red door doesn’t completely close.
