Well made and easy to use
It does exactly what you would expect. My only slight niggle is that it is a very tight fit and not just in terms of depth. In a normal metal wall box it actually fouled on the vertical screw lugs of the wall box forcing me to saw them off. (Most wall boxes have four screw lugs – two for horizontal mounting and two for vertical mounting. Usually you need only the horizontal ones.) I was fortunate in having a deep wall box so I didn't need the shim. So it protrudes from the wall barely any more than a standard light switch.Programming it is very easy – much easier than the TimeGuard ZV700 switch I previously had there – because it has a clear display and easy to press buttons in a sensible layout. One thing to note if you plan to use this to replace a light switch is that unlike the TimeGuard ZV700 you do need access to the neutral wire inside the wall box. Most light switches don't have a neutral. Also, and rather obviously, it doesn't have a photocell so can't be programmed to automatically switch on at dusk without resorting to frequent adjustments of the on time as the nights draw in. And on that depressing note...

Failed after 2 years
This was fairly easy to instal as long as the wire tails in the wall have a little extra length. IT was easy to set up and worked perfectly for just under 2 years. It has now failed, as others have found, with the “relay” buzzing and not closing properly. This suggests a driver circuit is bad designed and needs rethinking.Have now bought another manufacturer’s model to allow the electric towel rail to be turned on before morning showers and an hour or so afterwards.I hope Greenbrook will read these review and find the cause of these failures as the unit is otherwise excellent.

Nice timer, does what it says
Easy to install and use. Prompt delivery and good price. Others have mentioned that it is difficult to program (and what timer isn't) but to be fair it wasn't bad and quite intuitive

Early failures corrected
First one purchased via Amazon. This and its replacement failed within weeks. The supplier assured me that the fault had been corrected so agreed to take a third switch. This has worked well for many months so quite happy. The switch is quite easy to program and the instructions are easy to follow. This works on my electric towel rail meaning it is only on for 2 periods in 24 hours rather than the full 24 hours saving money on electricity bills. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the two failures.

Perfect for an electric towel rail
I installed an electric towel rail in the bathroom, then placed this switch on the outside of the bathroom in the landing next to the other light switches. I only really need the 'boost' function but this seemed the best solution. As bizarrely nobody makes a bathroom-compliant boost button, this set up is the best option. My only complaint is that the 'boost' button is a tiny '-'. It's the only button anyone in the house uses. But they need a tutorial in order to explain this (you wouldn't be able to work that out without being told, unless you are the kind of person who loves to program 80s video recorders). A large big button with the word 'BOOST' on would have been better.

Fitted in January 2020 failed in March 2020
I'd suggest that this isn't rated for a 3K watt, (13amp), immersion heater. Fitting was no problem, configuring the timer was no problem. The problem occurred when it had been in use for a couple of weeks. The switched output failed, and the solution was to remove the fuse in the fuse carrier and re-insert it, several times!! Check the Boost Button to see that there was power on the output side and then wait for the next time it failed.....and then repeat the process. The timer then failed after melting the fuse carrier, hence my suggestion that it's not rated to work with 3K watt devices such as an immersion heater. I've now replaced the switch with an alternative, and would advise against using this on an immersion heater. It may well be fine on devices that draw less than 13amps but I'd look for a timer that specifically lists the output current it can switch.I won't be buying this switch again... :-(

Good product
Good product. We had an electrician install it.We wanted a timer for our new outside lights. We have just had new dark grey windows & white render and had new lighting. This products allows us to have the lights on even when we're not home. The instructions made it easy to programme the day/time when we want the lights to come on/off.I would recommend this product.

Turns stuff on and off.
Easy to program after a good read of the instructions and fitting is straightforward but you will need a deep box as it's fairly bulky on the back and if your wires aren't very long or much spare cable it's a very tight fit.Works well. Looks tidy. Does the job!
