Turtle Wax 52811 Redline Car Wheel & Rim Cleaner Restorer 500ml

I have alloy wheels on my van and this product works really well. As described just spray on the toughest brake dust covered wheels and after working it in but not a lot, the wheel comes up gleaming with a jet wash. I don't use any other product. Highly recommended

I was quite pleased with this. I like that it is in a spray bottle and does not need to be decanted and brushed on.I had all 4 wheels off my car and sprayed both sides of the wheels with this - they all started off pretty dirty and caked in brake-dust, especially on the insides. I did give it a fairly gentle brushing with a standard wheel cleaning brush, to spread it around and ensure every groove and place was covered. I left it to turn red and then washed it off with a standard water hose and a light brushing. I left it around 15-20 minutes before washing off.I found that it sprayed easily - but to try and cover every square cm of the wheels just by spraying will use a lot more than liberally spraying and then finishing off with a brush.I did not find the smell particulary powerful or unpleasant.The wheels came up really nice. The outsides look excellent. There were a few awkward crevices not quite clean on the inside, and I actually used Wonder Wheels (as I already had some left over) to go over the insides of the wheels again.Then 5 coats of Poorboys sealant on each wheel.I have taken off one star because it did require a quick second going over to get all the dirt off - but I have not yet found a wheel cleaner that cleans everything in one go.I setimate I have used about 60% of the bottle contents and for the price I could happily use a full bottle every 3-5 months.

Bought this as an attempt to remove the brake dust build up on the inner part of my alloy wheels. This has likely built up over the 11 years of the cars life, Because of this I didn’t have high expectations.After attempting it last night (with a brush) it has completely removed all of the horrible build up of brake dust and restored the wheel to looking like new.I did find scrubbing helped in the tougher areas.Would definitely recommend this product, it’s very reasonably priced and works a treat.

Does exactly what it says. Turns red and cleans wheels to a sparkling shine, removes all traces of brake dust and iron partials. Bought 2 bottles and will continue to purchase. Smells like rotton eggs but all wheel cleaners do.

Good product to remove brake dust from wheels. Sometimes needs a stiff brush for stubborn deposits.

Fantastic even for the money. I never thought to use this stuff before my brother borrowed my car and had it detailed before returning it. The wheels were shining in a way I’d never been able to get them. So I tried this wheel cleaner. Used this brand as it’s been around for years and it was so much less money than others I’d been reviewing. I wondered what the difference could be and whether it would actually work. It did though. My wheels looked amazing. If you use it on newer wheels without any corrosion starting I think the results would be even better. My wheels have a fair bit of corrosion already so the all the dust doesn’t all come off fully. But i don’t scrub them thoroughly after application and before I wash off the treatment. I leave it for about 10mins before washing of whilst wiping off with a cloth. Don’t wet the the rims before applying treatment as it doesn’t work as well. I spray on rims first then wash the car and then rinse every off together.Very pleased.Steve

The product itself works well at lifting brake dust - wet wheel, spray on, leave for 5 mins, agitate with brush, wash off. However there is an issue that means I will not be buying this again and that is the spray nozzle! You see you turn the end of the nozzle to the 'on' position and start spraying but the liquid comes out in a jet rather than a fine spray, hence you use far more of the product than you actually need to. I managed to do three sets of wheels before the bottle was exhausted - an expensive way of cleaning your wheels!
