An Indian Herb With Many (Alleged) Benefits
I started taking AMLA some years ago for its reported benefits like improving kidney and liver health, boosting immune function and lowering cholesterol (allegedly it reduces LDL). I normally take 1gram (1000mg) per day on empty stomach. I do not feel any over acidity. This recommended dosage is based on previous brands of AMLA that I have used. The MB herbals AMLA does not bring any recommended dosage, and, as each tablet has 750mg, I just feel comfortable taking 1 tablet per day. I prefer to play safe here. While I like AMLA, I do not have way to prove its effectiveness other than my anecdotal testimony.

Typical dose of Amla, great price but not organic .
I enjoy taking adaptogens for my immune system and general health and one of the adaptogens I use is Amla. Amla has 600 to 800 percent of the vitamin C you need every day and has been used for thousands of years for medical relief. Short of eating the fruit, the powder is the best option, and you can get Amla in bulk powder as well as supplement pills. Read about it, the list of things it works on is long. Cough, cold, headaches, inflammation, bronchitis and anemia are just a few. Most Amla comes from India and you should have no problem buying Organic if you choose. This product is very affordable but lacks the organic and safe manufacturing labels we prefer to see. Until the general population catches on in the west, Amla remains affordable. This brand is a good dose and a very good price for 30 servings at 1500 mg per serving. And it’s a natural way to care for your body.

Only time will tell
I read that Amla oil is good for stimulating hair growth. I have no clue how effective it is being ingested in a pill form. It’s only been a few days since I started taking it so only time will tell. The pills aren’t huge and they’re pretty flat. They look like they would be textured or gritty but they’re not. Easy to swallow and there’s no smell.

Another ayurvedic product with supposed benefits
I don't really know the long term effect of taking these but I'm definitely okay taking natural herbs and plant derived products. Growing up, my father used to research Ayurvedic meds so I'm used to take a variety of them. These are good value and easy to take but effects are hard to prove unless you can take blood tests and send to a lab.

Hard to swallow
Not sure if these really did anything for me or not. The goal was healthier hair. Went thru the bottle without any visible results. Note that these pills have no coating. They are very chalk-like and hard to swallow.

2 a day keeps you healthy
Oval thin shaped tablet, not hard to swallow at all. Haven’t taken long enough to notice any difference but the health benefits of Amla make it worth trying out.

Dr. Greger's books recommends this supplement
The antioxidants and vitamins found in amla berries offer several health benefits. High concentrations of vitamin C in amla helps the body recover from illness. Amla berries also include several flavonols, chemicals that have been linked to benefits like improved memory. Here are some other health benefits of amla:Diabetes ControlThe soluble fiber in amla berries dissolves quickly in the body, which helps to slow the rate your body absorbs sugar. This can help reduce blood sugar spikes. Amla berries also have a positive effect on blood glucose and lipid counts in people with type 2 diabetes.Better DigestionThe fiber in amla berries helps the body regulate bowel movements and may help to relieve symptoms from conditions like irritable bowel syndrome. High levels of vitamin C in Amla berries helps your body absorb other nutrients, so they may be helpful if you take iron and other mineral supplements.Healthier EyesAmla berries are rich in vitamin A, which is key to improving eye health. Vitamin A not only improves vision, but it also may lower the risk of age-related macular degeneration. Amla's vitamin C content aids in eye health by fighting bacteria, which can help to protect your eyes from conjunctivitis (pink eye) and other infections.ImmunityOne 100g serving of amla berries (about a half cup) provides 300mg of vitamin C—more than twice the daily recommended value for adults. You'll also find notable amounts of polyphenols, alkaloids, and flavonoids. Amla has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.Memory and Brain HealthThe phytonutrients and antioxidants in amla can benefit memory by fighting against free radicals that can attack and damage brain cells. Amla's high concentration of Vitamin C helps your body produce norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter believed to improve brain function in people with dementia.

The Price is Right: Need more Company Information
These amla tablets are competitively priced at $5.99 for a one-month supply. The company is from India and has very little available information in the USA. They sell widely in India, so are most likely a reputable company there. The Amla is a product of India, prepared for export only. The tablets are easy to swallow: they are not too dense. They're scored for those who wish to make them smaller. The price is competitive, and I will look for more information about this company in the future.
