SHAKESPEARE Omni Spinning Rods - Freshwater or Saltwater Spin Fishing Rods

I bought this as i wanted a cheap lightish rod for chucking out feathers and lures on holiday.I paired it with my small carp reel with 15lb mono and used it for chucking out feathers off cley beach in Norfolk.I couldn't get far enough out at first, so I tried with a 2.5 oz weight which is over the 30-60g casting weight on this rod, it handled it OK so fair play to it.I caught some mackerel on it and that seemed to be well within the rods capability.On reflection I'd have got a heavier casting weight and longer rod for shore fishing so I could chuck it further out, but other than that I was quite impressed with this rod and will be giving it a go on fresh water for pike and perch back home

This 9ft rod does exactly what it is designed to do. It is light and flexible so no fatigue, casts extremely well and for the money it is a bargain. It is well finished in black and green and is well worth buying if you fancy doing a bit of spinning to break up your session on the river. An excellent product for little cost.

Rod broke first session

Nice rod not too stiff but with power in middle and butt, a mate has used one to catch pollack upto 8lb from rocks. Reel seat OK though clearly bottom end.

Received this rod ahead of expected delivery date very securely packaged. nice light weight rod, very sensitive. Had to go and try the rod out and caught my first fish in months a 1 and a half pound pollack. The rod handled the fish without a problem, tried casting a 28gm spinner that is at the top end of this rods spec and both rod and spinner survived.
