good pump with bad wire
U Cord wears out , breaking exposing wires by the motor.otherwise it's a good pump until the cord wears out and you can't fix the cord.. Suction wears out too. High priced too. This happened to three of the water pumps I bought. Cord need to be better made.

This a great working little filter system
This a great working little filter system. The water really comes out fast though so I rigged something up to put in the end and that made it perfect when using the water sprayer wand. Easy to put together. I wanted to use this standing up but the sprayer wand wouldn't work then. Had 6 inches of water in my turtle tub also. This would be great for a big tank I think, but my tank is like a medium. Makes a lot of noise laying down in the water and I hope it isn't going to be hard on my turtles ears. Not loud outside.

Great product! Just be careful if you have sand.
I have a turtle and a few fish in a 75 gallon tank. I was using a fish filter that was give to me for the tank and it wasn’t working well for my turtle, it was loud and hard to get it working. I’ve been searching for a new filter for a while and finally decided upon this one, I notice a lot saying it was super quiet and that is totally true! When I first put the filter in I had sand at the bottom of my tank, my turtle loved digging in it and it kept getting caught in the filter and was messing with it. The filter was having a hard time working because the sand was stuck in it. I had been wanted to get rid of the sand but this just gave me an excuse to finally get his tank sand free! Now that there is no sand in the tank the filter is working perfect! If you have a tank with a turtle I would defiantly recommend this, they make a huge mess and this is really keeping the water clean. Along with that it’s so easy to clean, taking the sponge out is super simple and even replacing the carbon if needed. Would highly recommend this filter to anyone without sand at the bottom of their tank.

but once I saw the bag of media (Carbon) and an empty white tray and cover it was pretty self explanatory after that
I've used many other filters for my turtle, mainly picked them up from my local petstores and none have worked quite as well as this unit has!I'm currently using this in a 100 Gallon tank, and it's filtering it with ease. Putting my hand in the water I can feel the water a little over halfway to the otherside of the tank, which is extremely impressive given the price of the unit at $35. The instructions were a little confusing, but once I saw the bag of media (Carbon) and an empty white tray and cover it was pretty self explanatory after that. You place the tray inside the unit and then proceed to stick it in your tank with a selected nozzle (Which by the way, they include a bunch. Believe there to be 4-5 different nozzle choices).I'm currently using the nozzle that also aerates the water, as they also include a thin air tube in addition to the filter itself to hook onto the nozzle. My turtles tank has never been so clean, and I haven't smelled the tank at all since the induction of this filter. As for the noise level, it's so quiet that I can't hear it running at all and I hear the soft buzz from my overhead light on the tank.Highly recommend this filter! (As I was about to buy myself an expensive canister filter instead, but went out on a whim with this and tried it)Super satisfied!

Not a good filter for turtles
I had high hopes for this filter from the reviews. I had it in my tank for less than a week, and added a second (my tank is ~65g but only filled with about 35 for my turtles) and had to do a full water change. The filters were both filthy and needed to be cleaned. Mind you, one had only been in there for 3 days and the other 6. I filled it back up, and within minutes the filters turned the brand new water murky again. It doesn’t get the job done. I’ll be switching to other submersibles. Also, depending on the position of the filter, it can be louder than expected.

Outstanding filter, very happy, best filter purchase yet
I have a ~100 gallon turtle tank, and this is my fourth filter for it. It works great, and so long as I can find new materials, it will likely be my forever filter. Cleaned up a VERY dirty tank in about 48 hours, and has kept it clean since. I could not be happier with this purchase, excellent build.Noise: It is one of the 'noisier' filters I have had, but you're not going to notice it in a conversation or anything. It's just louder - and more powerful - that the others I have tried.Power: Very powerful, this isn't for a small tank! (unless you have fast fish)

Probably would work well for fishtank or small turtle tank
We have two very large turtles (I'm guessing about 8") in a 60 gallon tank. I couldn't believe that this filter was recommended for large tanks, but at $30, I thought I'd give it a try. It worked great.... for two days. It just doesn't have the capacity to filter a larger turtle tank. I thought about buying a second and running both, but that would take up too much room in the tank. Back to the expensive filters that wait a year or so to die....

amazing and powerful filter.
This filter is amazing. Don't listen to Mr negativity down there. The instructions are very basic however its not rocket science to figure out what setup you want. The filter does have a slight hum to it but with how much water it moves it only makes sense it would make some sort of noise. I have had 3 other filters that just didn't do the job. This one had the job done in a matter of hours. Crystal clear water. Yes it is only a 2 stage but the 1st stage has such a large filter it counts as 2 stages in itself in my opinion. Also it has the carbon media bag which I would suggest just buying a large container of carbon to refill the bag. Overall I'm in love with this product. It moves A LOT of water. I think its ideal for a 40-50 gallon tank. I have it in a 40 gallon and its doing wonders. For the price and the job it does, I would take the sacrifice of a slight hum. Stop being so picky people.
