The best ear buds to block out sounds and get a good nights sleep!
I was recommended these by a friend because I was having sleep problems due to noise particularly in the summer. I have tried all sorts of ear plugs and they didn’t do the job. These are brilliant. I have recommended these to my mum and bought a set for my daughter. Recently I was very very ill in hospital. My bed was next to the nurses station and right next to the bells going off 24/7. These ear buds saved my sanity, I slept no problem. There is a nack to these ear buds I have discovered. They are rounded at one end and an odd shape at the other. I pinch and reduces the width of the rounded end and then put it into my ear. I hold it in my ear for a few seconds then let go. The ear buds expand but also partly come out of the ear. Don’t panic that they aren’t working. What they do is nestle into your outer ear and lodges there. I guide the ear buds into that position. You may worry once the ear buds are in position in the outer ear that the inner ear bit isn’t doing it’s job. It takes the inner section several seconds to expand into position too. I appreciate that this sounds a bit fiddly but I promise you it’s absolutely worth the fiddle to get a brilliant nights sleep. Because these ear buds sit into the outer ear, they don’t fall out. I make sure they are in position in the outer ear before I go to sleep. I find them comfortable and soft enough too. I can’t tell you how much money I’ve spent on anything that will block out noise, from expensive Bose noise cancelling head phones (too bulky to sleep in) I have also tried ordinary foam ear plugs and wax ear plugs. These are the only ones I have found successfully. I appreciate that they take a bit of getting use to, to fit into the ear, but they are worth their weight in gold. They block out my partner’s snoring and the birds singing right next to the open bedroom window at 4am!! The only thing I am concerned about is not hearing my alarm going off in the morning. At the moment I’m not working but I will be very soon. So far my brain has acknowledged hearing a faint familiar sound of the alarm. What I’m going to start doing is sticking my mobile phone under my pillow. My other option is to buy a vibrating alarm clock you pop under your pillow. It’s designed for people with hearing difficulties. I can’t be without my ear plugs now every night because they help me get to sleep so much quicker, I’m not laying in bed for over an hour listening to snoring or heavy breathing which drives me nuts! We all need our sleep to be able to function!!

Tested and recommended by knackered desperate parents!
These are just about the best ear plugs you can get. These have been thoroughly tried and tested over a number of years at my house ever since we made the utterly stupid decision to have children. "It'll be great!" I said. "Aww wouldn't it be lovely to have a little version of me and you running around?" she said. "I'm at a point in my life now where I think having a baby would just really fit in" I said. And here I am, years later buying yet another round of Max Lite earplugs, a huge bottle of Jim Beam and several rounds of codeine based pain killers. The good news for all prospective parents doing shift patterns to try and maintain each-other's sanity, these are awesome. Easy to fit, comfortable, and probably the best noise cancellation I've experienced. And I'm talking: moaning, screaming, randomly shouting "MUZZY!" at 3am, monitor's beeping, and a borderline senile cat meowing at a plug socket at random intervals. The only thing I would recommend with these is that you use them "sawn off" They are quite long, and I think it's much better for your ears in general as well as for comfort to just snip off the tips by a half cm. It doesn't impact their effectiveness. If you wanna sleep soundly like a nineteen year old with his whole life ahead of him and not a care in the world involving milk or Mr Tumble, then these are for you.

they work-despite poor instructions
I bought these after having used wax balls which were a bit messy. The first problem was working out how to use them given the poor diagrams on each pack. Although it shows you have to press them in with a finger, it doesn't make it clear for how long you need to do this .With much trial and error, I found you have to roll the thin end between thumb and finger (as was shown on pack) and then quickly insert with accuracy into the ear cavity. if you miss the hole or if the plug is not rolled firmly enough, it rolls back on itself on insertion thus preventing a tight fit .I find the best thing to do is twist briefly just prior to full insertion then keep pressing the plug (broad end out) with your finger for about 1/2 minute and then v.slowly release as the foam expands . I try to re-use each on at least 6 times ( rinsing in warm water ,then air-dry if a bit dirty) .I do a roll test after the first few times .If the thin end expands too quickly -which it won't do when fresh- I might discard. On the whole they produce about 70% noise reduction ensuring a better sleep. Tip: Test if inserted OK by flicking middle finger off the thumb a few times close to the ear-if it's faint it's OK. Pleasant dreams!

Very good earplugs
I'm very happy with these earplugs. They are soft enough to be comfortably worn all night, yet effective at keeping at noise at bay. My cat often comes right to my face to meow at night, and bizarrely with these earplugs in the cat sounds like Rob Brydon's "small man trapped in a box" voice (you'll need to utube that if you don't know what I'm talking about!). The plugs don't last forever - if worn every night, they will soften about after two weeks or so and become both harder to put in and gradually less effective at keeping noise out. However, 20 pairs is about a years supply so a good night's sleep for about a penny per night seems well worth it to me!

Not too bad…
These ear plugs are good at blocking majority of sound (wont block sound 100% as that’s not possible with just ear plugs) however you have to roll them very tightly with your fingers to make them really thin and insert them deep into the ear canal. These earplugs wear out very very quickly compared to the red/orange standard ones. I also find that ear wax sticks very easily onto these ear plugs compared to the standard red/orange ones.
