Lots of fun
I give it a 4 out of 5. Well thought out, hilarious lines. However it is quite complicated. I think it would be better if one person was running the evening and had read and listened to all of it and was basically the "Director". None of us had read any of it and it was a bit hard to follow at times. The party planner said when to read some of the clues but it wasn't specific or clear. The 2 spare characters don't add anything so it probably would be better keeping it to 10 people. We followed the receipies as well and the soup wasn't enough although all the food was delicious. Everyone who went thought it was hilarious (apart from me and my husband who were the spare characters and also hosting the evening). I will definitely do another Murder Mystery but will put a buffet down the middle of the table and have a Director who is "in the know".

Highly recommended evening
This was our second Murder Mystery. We had 12 people and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone dressed in character (we all used existing outfits and 'props' we already had) and we had some fabulous accents. My husband and I were the hosts and prepared the food as suggested, printed off appropriate French style pictures to cover existing picture frames and had subtle lighting. We lost our way a little with the instructions, especially the CD, but got back on track. It didnt spoil the enjoyment. We had great fun and lots of laughs. The only thing that threw us as Organisers was one of us realising we were the murderer, having had a couple of drinks and still needing to be the Organiser whilst trying to bluff out of the questions!!!!! We managed! A good time was had by all. Highly recommended.The enjoyment is from having the correct guests who will get totally involved.We did The Champagne Murders on a self catering family holiday in France 4 years ago with 14 of us, ages 14-80.. That was brilliant too. Especially as we all had to improvise with clothing, props, etc, we had with us on the holiday. Next one is Death by Chocolate........Also Amazon delivery very quick and efficient.

Fantastic customer service
We have used Paul Lamond murder mystery games on numerous pre-Covid occasions and always had a fantastic night. The games are very clear and walk you through the night. Even our non-jazz hands friends have enjoyed the evening. This time we are doing the game via Zoom (having distributed the packs to our friends in the village). I contacted Paul Lamond Games as I was worried that our friends would not be able to hear the CD (which sets the scene and summarises each section of the game) and they immediately sent me mp3 files of the CD to play over Zoom. Fantastic customer service. I cannot recommend them enough.

Great fun - much better with CD than DVD
Great - a lot of fun. Much prefer having the CD rather than the DVD - much easier to set up a CD player in a dining room than a DVD. Game was well constructed. Only negative points - it is obvious quite soon who the supernumerary guests are as they have no dialogue - ended up feeling sorry for our supernumerary guest. Other thing - would be great if there was more guidance about when to serve food - there is dialogue before each round as well as the round itself and would have been easier if this was spelt out as, after a few glasses of wine as well as trying to keep up with food prep, difficult to try and work out when best to serve food.

Great fun! Would recommend.
This was my first murder mystery and it was great fun! Really hilarious, a great night. Recommend making a spotify playlist of the suggested artists beforehand, as it worked well! I served French cheese and bread for starters, beef bourguinon for main and macaroons/eclair for dessert. I would suggest doing something similar, and only home cooking one of the courses as you don't want to distract yourself from the fun! We were 10 girls and 1 boy who played one of the extra characters, but this position wasn't necessary for the story. Lots of champagne and French wine, so we got quite drunk and forgot our back stories, but that just added to the fun! Only one person correctly guessed the murderer, but it wasn't really about that anyway! I would definitely buy one of these games again - great value for the entertainment provided. Just remember when to reveal clue 2,4 and 6 - there are not obvious prompts for these.

Great game
I bought and played this murder mystery last month. I have always loved a good mystery novel and played a flexi version of murder mystery last Christmas.This was way way better in every aspect. Everything about this is very detailed, in a good way. They provide invites with a broad outline of your character, party planner, game rules and character booklets. They even had a suggested menu with recipes for the dinner party, i did to follow this.As long as everybody buys into it, accepts it is silly and just a bit of fun you will have a great time. If you have someone sitting in the corner acting like "I'm too cool for this" they will ruin it for everybody else.We had lots of drink, plenty of food and everybody had a great time.I would recommend

Hilarious
Oh my goodness this is hilarious. The ridiculous accents and characters means that this is a wonderful night for everyone involved. We used all 12 parts and despite all being females 6 of us took on the male roles. That in itself meant that we were laughing g at the outfits alone. I have done loads of these murder mysteries and this one is definitely one of the best. I agree that whoever plays Otto needs to be a bit crazy and that just adds to the fun. Don't be confused my the first part as it all becomes clearer after the first section. The DVD really helped us to consolidate what was being said by the suspects. Would totally recommend this game. We ordered in fish and chips so didn't even have to worry about cooking. Enjoy!!
