Keeps clogging

Well made and good value.
No idea what thickness and sheerness have to do with this product but it is a nice solid well made plane for the money. Haven't used it in earnest yet. I am used to the lever system for locking the cap but the thumb wheel on this plane seems to work OK and would be less likely break than a lever. I have had a lever crack the casting of the cap on one of my old Stanley planes. It would be difficult to over-tighten the thumb wheel but maybe difficult to tighten it enough. Time will tell.

Works great after a little adjustment
Work is needed primarily on the chip breaker and a little on the blade, after that it works very well.

A top quality product as the name Jack and Irwin always comes with quality products. Well and beautifully crafted made with top quality lron with great wooden handle.

Very low quality
The sole of the plane is as straight as a banana..The cap iron's casting quality is as low as it gets...The chip breaker had to be sharpened for a long time to get it to not get stuck with wood.In short: don't buy it.Also: ild record olanes had "made in England" written on them, this one does not...
