Good quality lamp. When it arrived the bulb was smashed but I had a spare in the cupboard that was the correct size anyway. It’s nice and relaxing to look at!

Bought this lamp for my daughter for Christmas. After using it for a day the bulb isn’t working anymore. I used plastic gloves to handle the bulb so that’s not the reason.

Edit: it appears to be clearing up with some cycling on and off, so I am pleased. Hope it clears completely and lasts a long time. Looks etremely cloudy right out if the box. I bought this for myself, I wouldn't be happy if I had given it as a gift. It flows well with the new microwave bulb. I will ammended my star rating if it clears up after a week of cycling on and off, a few hours at a time, let it cool, start again. Just a faff that really shouldn't be nessisary with brand new lamp - but I'm not holding my breath as these 'Lava brand' lamps have plummeted in quality over the last 20 years. Light has a soothing glow and I really do hope it clears up because I love the colour. The new bulbs are safer, and cheaper to replace. That's great! I have very mixed feelings about this lamp as you can see. I just don't want people to be off buying these beautiful relics off the past. Lava lamps must not die!

Gets very hot but I’ve had no issues with that- all lights emit heat and that’s how the lava lamp works, so I expected it anyway. I don’t leave it on for long, about 3-4 hours tops usually. It didn’t take long at all to start working, the instructions said like 6 hours or something? But it was working within about 1. Easy to assemble and I’m assuming you could replace the bulb if it breaks, so I feel like it’s going to last a long time too. Very happy!

It has to be 20+ plus years since I last had a lava lamp. And, to be honest, I don’t know why I waited so long to get another one. They’re just mesmerising and I can just look at it for ages. Someone else mentioned the quality being cheap, but I don’t find that… it’s exactly the same as I remembered - the base, top, and liquid filled centre glass, all looks great. It’s a brilliant throw back to the past that I didn’t know I needed. Going to order another for my desk in work and another for my bedroom. Love it!

Purchased for my granddaughter,

Plugged it in and it stopped working

no defects and easy to install

Came with a European power plug and it couldn't be used until an adapter was purchased. The sections are not connected so consequently they are easily knocked over.
