Good quality product
Althow these are not from a bigger brand ... SoundMAGIC seems to build quality IEMs. Received my pair a week back and i am stunt of the sound quality ... as everybody here i read all the reviews i could find and was eager to test them out. I have tested all types of music from Classical to Rock. The outcome is pretty amazing. The lows are deep but are reproduced with clarity, the mids and highs are so crisp and clear you can hear all the details in the song just as the song was ment to sound (never had this feel also never owned higher class IEMs :)). The soundstage is also great. Also another thing is that no matter how powerfull the lows are the medium and highs remain untouched just as if you had 2 drivers inside ... impressive. I had as a comparison a pair of Sennheiser CX300. I was very impressed by the lows these had when i got them but the mid-higs are substandard and sound pretty owfull. Overall i am amazed of the quality you can get at this price. The build quality fells also good and ready for a long run with the metal-ish design. I`ve ordered a medium set of Comply Tips, T-400 seems to fit the E10 and i am waiting for them. I was never satisfied with the ruber tips as they don`t feel confortable enough for me. Hope the comply will fill that gap. PS: Just a small thing ... the sound isolation with the stock tips is not great. I found the double flange tips to fit best with best isolation. Hope the situation will change with the Comply Tips. LE: Just got my Comply tips ... first impression: way better. Better isolation after the foam expands and better sound (i reduced the volume by about 15% on my mp3 player). Also alot more confortable than all the supplied tips. A must have for any headphones. :) Would recommand these all the way, because in this price range you can`t go wrong. Great job SoundMAGIC !

Superb in-ear phones.
First of all I'd like to thank the company for a super quick delivery at no extra cost...24 hours from ordering to recieving..Well Done.!! Having recieved them I noticed right away that they were the updated version of them...having the anti tangle cable and a hard case to carry them around..I'm so glad I waited as I did not really fancy the pouch...The next thing I noticed upon opening the box and getting them out was the quality of not only the phones themselves but all the bits and bobs...You get several sets of extra ear buds (very generous in fact) and like I mentioend earlier you now get a hard case..NOT the pouch. The phones themselves are very well made and certainly look and feel the business, with an aluminium outer (I believe) and the finish was very neat of the paint job and decaling.I can't understand why some have said the build quality is poor...perhaps that's the case with the earlier versions, and maybe they have mistreated them someway...But these new incarnations are very well made in deed...as good as any other on the market for this price. As to the way they sound...I hooked them up to my Phone (which is able to play Flac and lossless music) and from the box they sounded amazing...Crisp..clear and a fairly good bass...I've run them in now for several days and the bass is perfect...Authoritive without being over the top..and the clarity has sweetend even more...I can understand now why they have won many top awards for the past 3 years.I've used these on my tablet and my laptop and I can find no faults with the quality of what they deliver...They also sound wonderful used with the 'Sandisc Sansa clip'..they are the perfect accompaniment as they do not take much power to use them, therefore saving you battery power....For those that complain about the tinny or none existant bass sound...Ignore what they say...they have no idea what they are talking about...These DO deliver great sound...the better the source the better these will deliver..!!! I have to say something at this point regarding certain peoples comments, especially when they say..These CHEAP phones this...Cheap that and cheap the other....SO WHAT if they are (which to be honest £35 isn't THAT cheap)..It doesn't make them any less in quality with what they can deliver, which is a fabulous sound...Expensive is NOT always the best believe me...Sound Magic have a great name and make some great phones of all types. All in all...Look no further to find a better sounding pair of in-ear phones...and not only for the money..You'd be wasting your money if you do, unless you spend around 3 times as much, and even then they would give them a run for their money....these will impress without having to rob the bank.

Mixed feelings - really strange strengths and weaknesses
First, I'm not a big user of earphones, so bear that in mind with my comments. I'm also a very late adopter of mobile technology. I eventually realised that I needed earphones to make better use of my recently acquired smart phone and I've always thought the 'speakers' on my iPad mini were tinny beyond belief. So I searched for recommendations on the web and these earphones were praised everywhere. Some reviews even suggested you'd have to spend 3-figure sums to get better sound. So I took the plunge. APPEARANCE: They do look good. I know that shouldn't be a major factor, but the packaging, presentation and the 'phones themselves all contributed to a value-for-money feeling. Here they're described as 'silver/black', but there's no silver visible anywhere - they're a gray/black combination. Personally I find it attractive. CONTENT: At this price I think I expected to receive a pair of earphones and nothing else. I was surprised, pleasantly so, to see what else was provided. There's a really tidy hard-shell storage case. It's about 2.5" square - jet-black with a bright red zip closure all the way round the middle. Inside, each half-shell has a mesh net pocket extending full-width and about half-way up its open height. Looks well constructed and very useful. In one of the mesh pockets was a small SoundMAGIC spring-clip, presumably for attaching the earphone cable to a collar or other item of clothing. In the other was a plastic bag with the writing "SoundMAGIC Ear hook Comfortable rubber earhooks for cable back to ear" Through the plastic I could see what turned out to be 6 different pairs of rubber tips for the earphones (different sizes and shapes) and what looked like a small pair of bent plastic rods. I assumed they were the 'earhooks'. Surprise! When I emptied the bag, I got rubber tips, but it turned out the earhooks were actually an image printed on the clear plastic bag. Very strange. I still can't explain this. Nevertheless the different sized tips have provided me with a really comfortable fit, and I don't feel like I need any hooks or clips to keep them in place. SOUND: The earphones themselves are surprisingly, to me, very good indeed. Since I got them I have listened to classical and jazz music, solo instruments and large ensembles, and the 'phones are genuinely very pleasing and satisfying. However, the cable is incredibly noisy! I don't know if this is a characteristic of all earphones of this type or only these. When I move around, or even just turn my head, the cable brushing against my clothes or head generates thumps and rumbles that are incredibly distracting. To get some idea of what I'm talking about and see if your own 'phones have the same issue try this test: pinch the cable at any point really tightly with one hand, using your thumb and one or two forefingers; now, using the other hand, flick the cable with your forefinger above where you've pinched it and again below where you've pinched it. I find these two conditions massively different. The 'below' flick causes no problems - all the cable vibrations and noise get trapped and damped out by my pinched thumb and fingers. But the 'above' flick produces a massive thump in my ears as all the cable noise is transmitted straight to me ears. It's as if the cables were acting as a microphone. It may be, but it's not clear, that this is exactly why the spring-clip is provided - to anchor the cable as close to your head as possible. SUMMARY: Build, appearance, extras, basic sound quality, all seem 'good' verging on the 'excellent'. But until I've resolved this cable noise I can't say this will be my preferred method of listening. I'm happy to persevere because the positive impressions of everything else in this purchase make me feel there has to be a way around it.

Simply put, buy them.
I'm not really one for writing reviews and such, so I'll keep this as short as I can. I recently decided to start gathering my entire music collection into FLAC files, as the hit & miss nature of a lot of mp3's was getting on my wick a little during playback. Then, I bought a new phone, an LG G2, which has the capability to play 24bit 192khz audio files, so using a Meenova OTG device I started to load all my FLAC files for playback. I plugged in my trusty old Sennheiser CX300's, and noticed the sound was rather 'muddy', nothing was very clear. I was a bit disappointed as these are perfectly nice earphones, but a goof few years old and maybe on their way out. So, I tried the LG Quadbeat 2 earphones that came with my G2. Immediately the sound was better, crisp, plenty of detail, but maybe lacking in bass and sounding a little bright I guess, but that is something I usually quite like. For a pair of free bundled in box earphones, they are brilliant. However the cable noise was irritating, and I couldn't help but think I was missing out on some detail and sharpness to the tracks. I researched and read reviews on independent hi-fi sites, and amazon etc, and decided that as I wasn't made of money sadly, I could either buy the Sennheiser CX300 II, or the Soundmagic E10. Having already had Sennheisers before, and wanting something with a different look, I opted for the Soundmagic E10. And I know I made the right decision! They look nice, the aluminium body feels nice, the connector feels quality and the 'twisted' cable is a bit different in styling terms too, but in a good way. They came with a nice small zip around pouch for storage and for storing the multiple ear tip selections it comes with. I went for the double flange option, ran the cable over my ear and pushed them in 'upside down' as that works best for me for fitting. Sound isolation is excellent without leaving you completely oblivious to things like traffic etc. And finally, the sound. As soon as I plugged them into my G2 and hit play, it all made sense. The sound was rounded, more complete than it had been before. The bass sounds precise, but isn't intrusive. The recordings sound more detailed than I frankly expected, especially for this price. If you are still using the bundled ipod earphones or some tat like that, then upgrading to these will be the best thing you can do for your music and your ears. Ridiculously cheap for the quality, both of build and sound . . . at double the price they would still be excellent value.

Good clarity, no fizz, but where's the bass?!
For the price (just under £25 at the time of purchase) these are likely to last with care, given the metal housing of the earpieces. I bought these for listening to music on my iPod, and I prefer in ear headphones. The clarity of the music is very good, with crystal clear distinction of instruments in the mix. They handle the mids and trebles really well without any fizz at the highest frequencies. What they surprisingly lack for me (considering they are packaged as "Powerful bass balanced") is a remarkable absence of weight in the lower frequencies. Bass notes sound distant and hard to hear. It's taken some effort to get more presence of the lower frequencies in the mix: swapping out different gummies and adjusting EQ. Even so, the bass sounds pushed to the back of the stage at best. Disappointed.

SoundMAGIC E10 review
Firstly I would like to point out that I bought the SoundMAGIC E10 Earbuds to replace my six year old E30 version. With this in mind I would like to say that broadly speaking the E10's are extremely good for the price and deserve serious consideration for listening to whilst "on the move". I do most of my listening on my Sony NWZ A15 and the music files are mostly 16 bit flac files of good quality and very revealing with a good recorded sound. In this respect the E10's are surprisingly agile with good crisp treble and a surprising amount of depth in the bass region. I have to say that the E10's are not quite as smooth as my dear old E30's in the mid range particularly on the width of the soundstage presented to the listener, nevertheless they do quite well. The E10 comes in an extremely well packaged carton with a surprising number of silicon tips and a cable clip for attachment to clothing etc. This is all enclosed in a very durable hard case. The construction of the E10 earbud itself appears to be coated aluminium with, what appears to be, an anti tangle protective jacket over the whole cable assembly. This is quite effective in alleviating some of the tangling inherent in this type of earphone. One of the advantages of the E10 compared to my old E30 is that the earbud cable hangs down when inserted in the ear canals. My old E30's had to be inserted so that the cable went up and behind the ears and was quite a chore to insert and get a good fit. A good fit is extremely important with this type of device for good bass. This ultimately led to problems as the anti tangle cable sheath on the E30's eventually cracked at the inlet to the earbud bodies (see second photo). I tried a temporary repair with Gorilla glue but in the end I decided to buy the E10's (first photo). It should be pointed out as I said earlier that the E30's are over six years old so I can't complain. To sume up the E10's: Good value with very good sound quality. Very well made for the price point. Excellent replacement for all mp3 players. (there are other models with in line mics for phones). Hope you find this informative. Happy listening.

Excellent little earphones
After my Klipsch S4i headphones snuffed it I was looking for a set of earphones that wouldn't cost the world but would provide a lovely sound. Initially I had passed over these earphones because I hadn't heard much about them. What a mistake that turned out to be. After reading a couple reviews I was impressed by the praise and decided that even if they were half as good as they were supposed to be, for £30 that's no real loss! The first thing I noticed was how well they were packaged. Upon opening them I realised that you are also provided with a little carrying case + a clip to secure them, which is actually a nice touch. You are also provided with an abundance of earphone tips to choose from (I counted 7 pairs in total) So finding a perfect fit is almost certain! The cable, whilst a little skinny, feels like it is wrapped in a tough plastic and is not the soft usual plastic you get on earphones like Apple's. I like it, others might not. The headphones are milled from aluminium and have a nice sturdy weight to them but don't feel unstable in my ears either. But now for the big one - the sound. I am by no means an expert so my judgement is merely what I feel. To me the bass is tight and powerful, but not overwhelming like the JVC Xtremes or Beats. The midrange generally felt quite distinct, although sometimes floundered when the tracks became heavy in both higher and lower frequencies, albeit, I would say that this is potentially due to my DAC which is noted for a less than excellence midrange reproduction. The treble doesn't really sparkle but is crisp and not harsh, which makes listening to the higher frequency a nice experience and not one of flinching. The overall reproduction is actually quite impressive, especially considering the price tag. The soundstage feels vastly wide and not small like some headphones reproduce. That being said, you don't get volume control or buttons on the cord. Personally I never use them so this isn't really a loss to me, but it might be to others so be warned! So overall. The sound produced is actually a pleasure to listen to! The soundstage feels a lot larger than what it is and sound feels very natural. The refined sound and construction really screams that this was cleverly engineered. At £30 this is an absolute steal and easily justifies why this set of earphones has won so many awards. I would recommend without hesitating, even if they were double the price!

Very good, but not perfect (especially with an HTC One M8)
Bought after a fair amount of googling "top 10 earphones" and these kept coming out highly on the lists. Prime delivery was punctual as ever and packaging is neat (if, in my case, a little squashed). First unpackaging impressions were good... metal components throughout give a high quality finish - I got the silver wired with mic option - and I was impressed with the number of included accessories (sturdy case, various buds and adapters). The Amazon pictures don't do them justice. Testing on my phone and laptop (HTC One M8 and Asus UX305, respectively) proved that the reviews were no lie, sound quality is very good. Mind you, on my phone I felt I was picking up some interference on some occasions. It was hard to put my finger on it, so for now I'll chalk it up to the Youtube music video I was testing with as other sources seemed ok. On the whole I felt they were definitely better than the Sennheiser CX 300 earphones they replaced in both the arenas of sound and build quality. The inline remote worked, just not as expected. For whatever reason, the volume buttons operated forward/back skip instead, although some would prefer this. Obviously not the end of the world and some googling found this to be a reasonably common issue with HTC handsets. Worth noting though if you are particularly bothered by such an issue, as the box claims that the "volume controls guaranteed to be compatible with around 95% of smartphones". Guess mine just happens to be in the 5%. The remote is also very high up out of sight, being a mic as well, which means you'll have to fumble with the buttons at first until you learn which is which. Another quirk is that the angle between the jack and wire is 120deg, rather than 90deg. Quite useful, I imagine, if used with a normal device with the headphone jack on top. However, the One M8 has it on the bottom making this actually less convenient and the wire will likely get bent more in normal use than if a standard style plug were used. For 45 quid, you can't really complain. If I were to buy again, I possibly wouldn't bother with the remote and save another tenner. Regardless, excellent value for money either way given the audio and build quality.
