Simple to start, battery power lasts and genuinely useful
If you need a secondary device that's fast, lasts ages on battery power, still allows you to do actual work on it then this machine is amazing.I use it for note taking, manipulating lucidchart diagrams, presenting... basically anything that does not require processing or graphics grunt (for which i have a much more powerful laptop).I'm genuinely impressed with it's price coupled with build quality and the 360 degree flip I originally thought was a gimmick, right up till I realised I use it all the time.Nice side effect is that when i'm away from home and want to watch netflix in the hotel it's great and lasts a long time. All in all it's not a primary machine, the screen resolution ensures that if i'm honest but as a lightweight machine that looks good and works fast it's amazing.I do however feel that I'm biased as everything I do both at work and in personal life is through the g-suite tools. I work in a completely cloud based environment and I do know that if your IT team need to install a million programs for security purposes the chromebook won't be ideal as most enterprise security suites do not have a chromebook tool yet.All in all, if yu're a contractor or consultant that uses g-suite a lot I highly recommend this device, coupled with a usb c- extender to hdmi converter you are set (although i've noticed that the clickshare tool many of my clients work with for screen sharing is terrible on this machine - fair warning!).

Not quite a tablet, not quite a laptop but still works somehow.
I have been wanting to buy a Chromebook for a while and this one came up on offer which had two of my key requirements: 1) ARM powered with Google Play store support, and 2) touchscreen. The keyboard is not big but works well for me, reminds me a bit of an old netbook except with much better performance. I am happy with the screen quality and touchscreen action. My touch pad also works well although there have been reports from others of problems. I find that I am mostly using it in "tent" mode or as a laptop. The volume generated by the speakers is impressive. I haven't run too many Android apps yet but so far so good. I installed a microSD card in it and it mounts nice and flush. The unit runs absolutely silently and stays cool. Performance wise, it is just not any sort of issue. It is fast enough. Battery life is about 10 hours on a full charge.

Quality materials but poor execution and quality control
My first impression of this Chromebook was really good All metal body with very little flex and light weight along side very good performance with many open chrome tabs were ticking all the boxes for me for casual browsing and media consumptionHowever, a few days later I noticed that Ithe S key was hyper sensitive it was activated without pressing it causing annoying typing errors. The last three of the five laptops I have purchased developed keyboard issues so I am cautious about early issues. The replacement unit had a very loose touchpad. It was producing clicking noise all the time and slightest touch was interpreted as clicking. This was annoying as the first unit had perfect touchpad. So I had to return it.Third time lucky did not work either. This unit had a sticky left Shift key. But I am fed up with returns and already spent a lot of time with it. So I decided to keep it as there are two Shift keys in case it fails. But it does not inspire confidence in manfufacturing quality. It is a pitty because meterials used are quote decent for the price range.Without this issues I would have given it 5 starsThe other minor criticism is the screen has huge bezels. They could have made this unit 11 inch with the same frame size. They should also offer larger internal storage as you can install Android ups and activate Linux Asus should also offer a size of 32 and 64GB.

Light, beautiful, perfect!
Where can I begin...I had an Asus C201PA before this and it was brilliant, apart from the plastic casing which eventually became scratched and fell apart. The C101PA is everything I wanted in a new Chromebook and more. The metal casing is a dream, no scratches or wearing down of the track pad coating at all. I do use a hard shell case as protection, but even so, after many months of use my Chromebook looks brand new.The form factor is also a joy. The smallest, lightest and most beautiful laptop I've seen or owned. I carry it all day in my backpack without knowing it's there.I've no complaints about the screen. I'm not a gamer or movie watcher, so for regular browsing or document work it's absolutely fine.I don't use it in tablet mode that often, but it's nice to know the option is there. The battery is awesome, I can go a full day without needing to charge, though I am quite conscious of keeping the screen brightness low most of the time. I use an app as well to put websites into dark mode, which conserves power.A few times in the last couple of months I've noticed the Chromebook turn itself off when I plugged in headphones. I don't know if this was just a bug in an older version of Chrome OS, but it hasn't happened lately. All laptops develop bugs eventually, so I'm not too worried. So, in conclusion, don't wait, just buy this, and enjoy one of, if not THE most portable and eye-catching Chromebook experience ever!

Superb.
Lovely little Chromebook. Really impressed with it. Quick and responsive all round. The flip feature is superb for evening reading. Had several tabs open and noticed no slowdown. Android app support seems fine for the few i've installed. The only real down side is Chrome OS itself! Minimal SD card support that could make the 16gb internal memory a factor in choosing another model with more memory. So far i'm fine as i bought it for quite a specific work related task but i think most would suffer with 16gb (less after OS). Screen is adequate but its weakest point which says alot for the rest of it! Quite alot of glare and not the best resolution but not a massive issue. Superb mouse trackpad and easy to use keyboard. If you can live with 16gb....Get it!
