These Le Creuset Silicone pot stands look great compared to a previous cheaper alternative we bought. The thickness of the silicone means that even pans that are larger than the surface are held up away from the surface to prevent damage. The product feels very premium and looks great on the worktop - You don't feel like you need to hide them away when not in use. The silicone grips the pan to prevent it from sliding (mashing potatoes/dishing up etc). We have had this for a month now and no signs of wear and tear despite using daily. It is very easy to wipe clean and store. Heat resistant and has protected the kitchen worktop whenever we have used it. Highly recommended.

this actually looks pretty good and works really well as a warm pot stand in my small kitchen. it covers about the ares of the biggest pot base in a standard three pot size range but it is quite thich so it can easily support a slightly wider pot within reason. i havent opened jars with it yet but it is very flexible so i can see how they would help to do that. you can also grab hot trays or dished out of the oven but i have to admit i still prefer using a doubled up cloth for that job because although the thing is flexible you dont get the same 'feel' for a good grip on something like you do with a cloth or oven glove. they are flexible like i said but in no way flimsy. they are made very well and will last an age i have no doubt. not a kitchen essential but a handy addition none the less.

If I am taking a cast iron casserole out of the oven, this is the perfect thing to place it on to protect the kitchen bench and to stop the casserole sliding around. If my usual oven gloves are not to hand, this cool tool can be used in their place to handle hot baking trays and cake tins. It is also perfect for removing a lid from a casserole while it is still hot. I occasionally use it on my dining room table when placing bowls of hot food on there. I have also used this to get a better grip on a jar lid that if refusing to budge easily. The cool tool won't break if you drop it like some cast iron trivets will, it doesn't tear or burn easily and it is very easy to keep clean. I have had other trivets made by different manufacturers and this one does feel like it is of better quality than the others. I would highly recommend this cool tool to anyone.

These little gems are in use throughout the day at our house, both as pot holders and as trivets. For most of our cooking, these are able to take the place of cumbersome oven mitts. We have three sets in different colors, so if some are in the dishwasher there are always a few available. Our first set is now a few years old and still looks brand new.

Update: Having this item in the kitchen for a few months has shown just how practical this item can be. It is sturdy, fits the hand well, nice for resting something hot. Its true utility, however, may be as a great & easy way to open that stubborn jar or other container. It has held up extremely well & is very sturdy. The ribbed texture makes it so useful. It is a very thick rubber & actually is worth the price. Still looks new despite almost daily use. Update 2012: Still looks new. Great, versatile, kitchen item. Worth the cost.
