Not the best
This product seems a little over priced for what it is and does. Setting up was fairly easy however the sound didn't always keep pace with the refs of the engine. I also encountered interference with the radio waves even when I selected different channels. Unfortunately I sent mine back for a refund.

Do not waste your time and money on this
Do not waste your time and money on this,.... it doesn't work... utter utter rubbish .... not worth the postage.... tried it in two different cars of varying ages and manufacturers... if you want the sound of a V8... get a car with a V8 engine.!!.. it revved when i was ticking over and ticked over when i was revving....basically did its own thing... sounds like a child's computer game... not authentic engine sound... I sent it back for a refund..... Do not bother buying this. you will regret it.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
The sound of a V8 on idle. Brilliant. Sometimes it changes its rev range and screams too early at 3000 rpm, and at other times the "throttle gets stuck" but who cares?? In the main- ace. It's true you can't listen to the stereo at the same time, but it sure does liven up the urban crawl. Can be difficult these days to find a radio channel with nothing on it- it transmits to FM- and travelling (even across town) you may need to retune the radio to stop interference. When dawdling along behind someone, and it is barely on idle, the V8 sounds as if it's about to attack as soon as it gets the chance. Think the engine noise in "Bullitt" and you have it. Would LOVE to hear this on a mega car system. Makes any car THE BOSS.

o.k
it is not that great but it does function as advertised. the sound quality is not that good which i think defeats the point. however it does sound good when driving in 3rd gear where it seems to come to life, it sounds pretty cool then.

Turn your car into a V8 I did!!
My Dad is a car fanatic, perfect Christmas present! Before buying this product, I had researched into the sound racer too a great length as I wanted to buy the right one. A colleague of mine first introduced me to this nifty piece of kit by showing me a YouTube video of the V8 version in action. Head to this link to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9XAC-BvUyo I had read many reviews from people who had purchased to V10 and V12 turn's out the it didn't work as well as the V8 and they didn't think it was as fun. The bloodthirsty raw of a V8 Shelby does sound exciting.... and guess what, it is! I would say though if you are to purchase this too use with an efficient engine it will struggle to work as the Sound racer will only kick in once you reach 2500 revs. It also is not compatible with Electric or hybrid cars. We tried this out in a Citroen DS3 Sport 150+ brake however driving normally it didn't kick in unless you put your foot down. Then it was tried on a Peugeot 107, SO MUCH FUN! Bringing the youth back without forking out loads. With good speakers/sub would make your experience unbelievable. Thanks for reading hope this helped!

Amusing for a brief while but no more than that
If your idea of a Ferrari sound track is a masonry drill/grass strimmer go for it. Made my little boy smile though so three points!

Cheap Gimmick
Tried it on a 2017 Peugeot 3008 and there is a very significant delay between revs and the output. Also quiet and sounds very much like an old 80's driving game sound. Very 8bit and retro sounding without any realism. Probably not worth investing in even as a toy.
