Black Silk Eye Mask

I have been using an eye mask for about 8 years now and have tried many different types. Being female with not the largest of faces I found some masks literally are too big and also I'd started to notice that my eyes were getting very weepy and I think congested due to lack of air at night. I'd bought a jasmine silk mask previously but in pink and it was very pretty and soft but useless for keeping the light out, so I thought this would be the same, absolutely not, it is great, lightweight and feels comfortable to wear and does block most of the light out. I have one small niggle but I haven't dropped it any points for this, I find the nose flap a tad annoying but I've got used to it now, I personally don't think they are necessary but so many masks add them. Also another point is this mask DOESN'T bleed black dye onto your bed linen. Others I have tried have run onto my sheets and it doesn't always come out easily. I find I wake up with my eyes far more refreshed and no huge marks on my face, which is much better, I've just ordered another one to take on holiday. Oh and one last thing, it washes up fine, I hand wash mine in the bathroom basin with some hand wash being careful not to wring it too hard so the internal silk gets ruffled up and it washes fine. So a great mask.

BLOCKING LIGHT: Personally, I found the item to be excellent, it stopped all the light coming in. There is an extra piece of silk material (approximately 2cm) on the lower margin of the mask, forming a small rim around the area where the bridge of the nose would be, to provide extra security so the light does not enter. Incidentally, I found the mask stayed in place and did not move as I moved around while sleeping i.e. it was still in place when I woke up. COMFORT: Previously, I have only used a travel mask, which was not anywhere near as comfortable. This mask is made from a wonderfully soft silk containing a soft cushioned padding inside and is extremely comfortable to wear. Incidentally, the padding is only light so the mask is not too bulky. SIZING: The mask has an adjustable elastic strap with a lot of give. The ability to adjust the sizing was great as I only have a small head but found I could adjust it accordingly. QUALITY: The workmanship of the item is excellent. It looks well made, the stitching is very neat and there were no stray pieces of thread or the like. POUCH: The item comes in a little transparent pouch with a resealable zip. It is such a lovely item that I like the fact I can store it in this pouch when not in use. Also, this will come in handy when travelling. Incidentally, the pouch does have white writing on it e.g. details of the mask, care instructions etc. OVERALL: I am extremely happy with this reasonably priced eye mask, that is functionally fit for purpose. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

My previous sleep mask was a freebie from a hotel in Lincoln, which has now fallen to pieces and I had gotten fed up with sewing the elastic back on. Thus I set out on my quest to find a new & better one. After looking on my favourite site(Amazon:D)I came across this one. It arrived the next day after placing my order which I was very surprised and impressed with. It comes in a case which reminds me of the pencil case I had at school and upon taking it out felt really cool and soft to the touch. I tried it on and adjusted the elastic band to fit my head. All I had to do now was wait for bed, which was a pain as it was only 11am :( So come bed time I was really looking forward to putting this on and blocking all light out. Did it? No, not completely there is a small amount of light that comes in around my nose but hey, we're all different(which makes us special...)so I didn't and don't expect it to fit perfectly. If I wanted that it would have to have lycra in it. Regardless it did the job and with my new earplugs I look great in bed lol!!! My only complaint is due to it being made of silk it does slip on my head and sometimes I wake up with it either half way up my forehead or not sitting centrally on my face. It may be due to the softness of my hair, I don't know but I have overcome this by tightneing the band which has helped somewhat. So don't let that put you off though, I'm impressed and a happy bunny..... :D

I wasn't sure if l should award this mask four or five stars. I would give it four and a half if possible. First it is a lovely soft mask. Lightly padded for comfort. It fits well over the eye area and feels comfortable. It measures approximately 21cm x 9cm at the lowest point below each eye. The elastic strap is 1.1/2 cm wide. It has a sort of 'bra strap' type of adjustment fitting. You can tighten it to the required fit. Not all masks have that type of adjustment. Underneath the mask there is a small type of flap that l assume fits over the nose blocking out any detectable light. The light blockage is only total around the bottom if the mask is quite snug. The blockage of light through the material is very good. I bought a black one. On the downside, it gets quite warm over the eye area and probarbly feels a little too warm. Almost to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I cannot fault it in any other way. Only one point that does let my mask, down is the fact that one side of the mask, bottom eye area, is not as well stitched or cut as the other side. The machinist has not taken care and that side is misshaped and badly stitched. This has caused the fabric that goes over the nose underneath to twist. Not a very neat job! . However, it wasn't bad enough to make it warrant returning it. It does the job that it is required to do. As far as the benefits of silk goes. Silk is very kind to the skin. It doesn't scratch or pull the delicate skin around the eye area. Apparently!?, silk prevents wrinkles from forming. Your eyes feel relaxed and refreshed after removing the mask. Probably because they get warm and cool down quickly after removing it. I do recommend this mask for the above reasons. It is value for money if you don't mind a bit of careless workmanship. It does the job that it was designed to do.

Imprescindible en la maleta y en los vuelos. Es muy cómodo y oscurece totalmente. Uso uno desde hace dos años y he comprado otro más ¡porque mi mujer me lo quitaba!

Soo soft! thin, yet plush and the silk makes me feel spoiled. blocks light well and is comfortable as I twist and turn in the night

Love this blindfold, so very comfortable. Can not say enough good things about this product. Even has silk band so no hair pulling.

Tres bon produit, pas cher, tres efficace (pas un brin de jour et pourtant je suis difficile), n'allez pas chercher plus loin ! Tres doux et agréable, réglable bref parfait !
