Victorinox Dual Knife Sharpener, Swiss Made, Portable, Black/Red

I first got one of these three months ago using a gift voucher. I thought it was worth a try after some frustration with other more complicated & messy sharpening methods. It's been a revelation though - for such an innocuous and low-priced item it's quickly become essential around the house, especially in the kitchen. You know that phrase "the best camera is the one you have with you?" Well this is the same, it's always easily stored in a convenient place so you are much more likely to use it. No need to go out to the garage and get my hands covered in oil! This is so easy to use and gives such great results that sharpening knives has become enjoyable, rather than a chore. There is only one downside - last night I dropped mine on my slate kitchen floor, and the stone broke in half. So I'm gonna need to be more careful with the replacement I immediately ordered!

This is great. After watching a few YouTube videos on this sharpener I decided to give it ago. My old sharpener had worn out & needed replacing. This is awesome. After working out the correct angle to hold this at, it's 20°. I was able to get my knives sharper than ever before. I've used it on different knives. A few Swiss Army, another pocket knife, my work bence knife & the kitchen knives. It does a great job. Instructions are not really included but there's enough guides on YouTube to show you how to use it.

Bought 5 years ago and used frequently to keep kitchen knives sharp. This simple sharpener works well and is easy to use. It works well for knives but is too small and lightweight to use on tools (chisels etc) for which you need a traditional sharpening stone. The main advantage of this sharpener is convenience - it sits in a kitchen drawer and can be taken out and used in seconds to sharpen a knife. This is vastly easier, quicker and less messy than a sharpening stone. The design means that you really don’t need to fret about sharpening angles as it does a decent job with a few passes at just about any angle, you don’t need prior sharpening experience to use this. It is quite lightweight and is showing wear now but for the price and the amount of use it has experienced it is good value and useful to have in the house. Recommended.

surprised at how well this works. Having had Victorinox knifes for over 50 years (carry one everyday) thought id give this a try,and was very glad of my purchase with the help of a light strop my knives are razor sharp,tied it on other knives Boker,CRKT among others and same result razor sharp after a quick strop. the only thing I can't use it on is my Moras' as they are scandi grind but anything with a 20 degree bevel its great,also worked on my kukri which has always been a pain to sharpen so I'm guessing it to has the same bevel. for the price this small pen like sharpener is one of the best out there and much quicker than using wet stones.

This knife sharpener took a little bit of practice on an old dull SAK but eventually it did a really good job. It's not going to be razor sharp like a very expensive sharpening system will do it but the knife was sharp enough to whittle and do anything else I asked of it. It is worth spending a little bit of time looking at a few YouTube video of people showing how to use it properly.
