Q: Does it work with echo or echo dot?

Hi, Thanks for your question. An Appkettle Alexa Skill for Echo is currently being tested to completion. This first skill will allow Appkettle "on/off" functionality with Amazon Echo and Alexa, by installing the Appkettle skill from the Alexa Skill store. You can then call on Alexa to boil your kettle through voice commands without opening the App. We aim to finish testing in the next 2 weeks, then it will be submitted to skills store which could take another week for approval. The skill will be available in February, with all reliability tests being successfully passed. Then the iOS and Android App's will be updated, instructions will be uploaded to the Appkettle website to explain how to connect the Alexa skill to Appkettle and Alexa Skill will also be released. Thanks

Q: are there any plastic components that are in touch with the water? (eg is the spout or lid or elements in the base or window made of plastic?)

Hi Ms T, I can confirm that the heat plate is stainless steel, the water windows are glass and the filter is stainless steel also. The only thing plastic is the small clip bracket that holds the stainless steel limescale filter in place at the spout edge. Thanks.

Q: Is there scope to include Google Home compatibility?

Hi James, I can confirm that with our upcoming IFTTT service in the next month, we will have links to use Google home and assistant through IFTTT services. Cheers Bob.

Q: Is it rfc7168 compliant?

It is not. Also, the API gleefully requires your username and password in the request, plaintext, unencrypted.
