Had a look around and this ticked all the boxes ( high street retailers either did not have or were very expensive). The choice was between buying from Richer Sounds direct or via desertcart. The unit itself does a great job in decoding a variety of sounds e.g. Dolby Digital and DTS etc. And from a number of sources e.g. game consoles, blue ray player, hdd recorder etc. My only quibble is that it's not clear that you need a powered ( active ) subwoofer from the description. I had a passive sub so have ordered up an active one from desertcart. So be warned. Having said that this is a great av reciever at a very good price. Would certainly recommend it and Onkyo products in general. They are not a well known brand but certainly do produce excellent equipment at reasonable prices.
