Brand new shaver feel every day
These original cartridges do a fantastic job of cleaning my Braun S9, to the extent that it feels like picking up a brand new shaver every day. They're easy to install, with a quick slot in / slot out process whenever one runs out, and they fit perfectly in the S9 cleaning station which sits nicely tucked away in a corner. The cleaning cycle runs quickly and effectively, with the wash and dry being over in just a few minutes, and then the shaver being thoroughly clean and ready to use next time it is needed. The cartridges last about 30 days, and in my experience they last longer when I wash every day and leave the shaver in the station while not in use. It's as if it reduces exposure to the air, and slows down the evaporation, but 30 days is more than adequate for me. Be careful when you pull the plastic bung before installation - you need to pull with a smooth and controlled action, and if you can avoid sudden jerks then you'll keep more cleaning product in the cartridge, so it will last you longer.

Kept my 9 series shaver going for over 7 years
Whilst initially I felt this could be another unnecessary expense, the Braun clean and renew cartridges and system have kept my series 9 shaver like new for over 7 years. Infact I only recently in the last month decided to change the foil, the original one was still going strong. I put this down to the convenience and formulation of these refill cartridges. Not only do they help clean the shaver head and foil automatically without the fuss and mess, they lubricate the blades and cutting head, minimise bacteria and smell great! I tend to get these in a multipack as they offer better value (especially during sales) and each cartridge usually lasts around 2 to 3 months with daily shaving. Once the cartridge has expired the smartcare station won't allow you to continue until you replace it (not sure how it knows this!). After removing the cartridge I usually empty out the yucky waste liquid content before recycling the plastic cartridge. Fitting a new one requires a firm pull to remove the covers and then it slides into place inside the cleaning station. It has helped to keep my series 9 in tip top condition and protect my investment. Thoroughly recommended for fuss free shaver cleaning and protection.

They do NOT last 2 months, as claimed
They absolutely do not last two months. I have been using the system since 2017. All my orders have been from Amazon, so I was easily able to find my orders. Between March 22 and Jan 26 (and this excludes the Jan 26 order - I’m only counting the ones actually used in that time), I’ve used 54 cartridges or 9 packs of six. Over 46 months. That doesn’t count holidays (where the system goes unused) nor times when it was unused because they had run out (again). That’s 1.17 cartridges per month or 26 days per cartridge. Apart from the environmental unfriendliness and the cost, it’s a good system. But, Braun, don’t pretend that these things last two months. They don’t.
