Wonderful book! Illustrations are beautiful

I follow the author, Christie, on YouTube and love her creative, cozy style. The cinematic quality of her videos matches the vibes of this guide. I love how she is able to romanticize daily life - joy and struggle included. I may never travel to Tokyo, but if I did this book would be in my pocket!

A beautifully illustrated memoir! A little travel journal complete with photos, illustrations and washi tape. It sparked a lot of cherished memories of my own travels to Japan. I loved to see Christy‘s journey and her struggle as an expat in Japan. It gives me hope and courage to try new things in life. It provides great little tips for all those who want to travel to this beautiful country.I can also recommend her Youtube Channel!

My daughter is a huge fan of Christy Anne Jones on her youtube page. She watches her vlogs daily. I had to get this book for her for Christmas and she loves it.

An outstanding travel guide/memoir to one of the biggest cities on earth. The illustrations are cute and the pictures are beautiful. However, the writing is what pulls you in. I don't read a lot of travel guides, but this book's prose really puts you in Tokyo. Ms. Jones lays bare her soul. Telling us her favorite moments, her frustrations, and what she loved about being an ex-pat in Tokyo. But it's also a travel guide and she gives us copious amounts of lists, pictures, and plenty of do and do nots. Unfortunately these lists can be turgid and tiresome after a while. But don't let that stop you from getting this. If you want to know about a city you've never been to, told from the perspective of someone who's been there, then I can't recommend this enough. It makes a homebody like myself want to go out and see what's out there.
