Great value and nice tone
I was a bit sceptical about this bowl for a price of only about £20. I need not have worried. The bowl is a little uneven on the rim and with the hammering, but that shows it is handmade. The bowl is a nice and thick gauge metal and so takes a while to resonate when stroking round the rim and also if you go to fast it will buzz due to the slight rim imperfections. I found it did not play well when with the wood only mallet provided with it (fine for striking it), I suggest you buy another one with a leather end covering. Having said all of the above my bowl produces a clear and simple mid "o" tone when stroking round the rim and I love the resonance. Produces a nice clear high tome "e" when struck. Great value for the money and in my opinion a good starting out size of bowl that is not too heavy to hold.

pleasantly surprised
review for the 6" singing bowl: what a lovely bowl! excellent double tone with some evidence of hand working. I bought 4 of these and all of them are slightly different sizes and tones so strong evidence of being hand finished items. The bowl actually comes with the exact cushion and striker shown in the photo, both are of good quality but the striker is all wood with no felt on it so the bowl is difficult to sing. The bowls came in lovely packaging unlike some that just come in a card box from India.

One big bowl!
Seller responded well and reassuringly to my query before the bowl arrived. Very well packed and arrived quickly. A little worried when I saw the inner box, as the bowls I've seen in shops are in containers of handmade paper. Opened the inner box to find more protective packaging, a beater, brown cushion - and one huge bowl. Set it up on the cushion, gently tapped the bowl - and oh my, what a wonderful sound. It also sings really well, produces a number of different tones, and vibrates wonderfully. This is honestly the nicest bowl I've heard, and I've tested quite a few. I am so pleased, and the price was fantastic.

Its quite large and a very good weight to hold in your hand
The bowl arrived very quickly and it was very well packaged. I was surprised at the size of it. Its quite large and a very good weight to hold in your hand. It's beautiful and after a little polish, it shined like gold. It's sits lovely on the pretty cushion that came with it. Even the striking stick is very well made. It gives a lovely sound when struck. All in all, I'm thrilled with my bowl and would most definitely buy this again as a gift.

Not as in picture. Received inferior item.
Bought one of these bowls and it was as decribed with lovely hammered finish, an attractive wand and a nice tone. I was so pleased I ordered a second and what a got was a very smooth, shiny bowl with an ugly wand and it is imposible to get nice tone from it, and it hardly resonates. Very dissapointed as I had purchased it for a birthday present for my mum who has dementia and I thought she would find holding the bowl and focusing on the vibrations theraputic as well as her being able to enjoy the athestics of the item.

Very relaxing tones
Soon after removing the packaging, I was able to produce beautiful tones from this singing bowl. A nice size and not too heavy in weight, it is comfortable enough to balance on the palm of a hand. The wood striker works perfectly well, and the cushion is a nice addition. I absolutely love this set - well worth the money!

Tibetan Singing Bowl
The singing bowl is lovely. Its sounds fantastic and has a real magic about it. Tap the bowl and the sound resonates for ages. The beating stick is wooden, half covered in velvet. It looks completely handmade due to its not-quite-perfect appearance which is great. I am really pleased with my bowl. My only complaint is the packaging. The bowl arrived wrapped in plastic and a bit of bubble wrap with no other protection, no box, tissue paper or anything really to protect it or evidence the value (to me) of such an object. Its not the cheapest bowl on Amazon by any means and I would have expected it to have been treated as a precious object rather than a bit of tat. Had it been packaged better, it would have received the full five stars. That being said, the bowl is amazing. Now in June, I see that the price has reduced from £70 to £23!!! Very annoyed about that, but what can you do? Seethe, I suppose.

Great bowl
This is a lovely bowl, easy to play, clear tone with strong harmonics. I was amused to read another reviewer's comments about it being "badly dented" - this is a hand made bowl, hammered by an artisan from a single piece of metal. The "dents" are the birthmarks it received from its creator. The beauty of this type of bowl IS the rustic appearance. I'm delighted with this bowl !
